I know a lot of players aren't happy with a lot of things in the new build. For us old MAG guys this is about as close to the old 1.3 fiasco as we'd like to get.
Here's a few things I haven't seen posted about, that I think need addressed
1) Stamina A lot of hub bub about the speed, and the general clunkiness of the game...but the one thing that I'm unhappy about regarding the movement is the stamina. I don't have an issue with the slower speeds. It promotes more of a team game play with the range nerf and tighter gun fights. What I do have a problem with is the stamina. The maps are still FREAKING HUGE. However, the stamina does not seem to have been increased at all, even though we move like molasses.
Stamina needs to be increased ASAP. to at least TWICE what it was for all suits with the possible exception of the heavy (as I haven't played that one). And don't start on the "use a stim mod!" garbage. The stim mod is to increase over an above everyone else. I think that the overall stamina is too short per burst.
2) Slow swap outs The grenades and gun swaps are killing me. Literally. These should be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay quicker. with an exponent. of like infinity.
3) Scout suits ain't fast enough I'm not really a scout user per se...I use a dragonfly on my tanker so I run around in that often and that thing simply is not fast enough to flank guys. And looking at the specs on the suits...the scout simply does not have enough speed to accomplish...well being a scout. If the Gallente Scout is moving at less than 9, then there's a problem. I understand making it naturally slower than the Minmatar scout because it has so many low spots and it can use the stim mods to increase stamina/speed. I totally don't care. Make the scouts faster and if someone wants to hot rod the Gallente Scout, then so be it. It only has one Hi power lot for a reason. |

Agree with all, but scout suits are WAY to fast. You been knifed by a speed scout or ran down by a scout shotgunner? Nah man, they were bouncing all over the place like it was halo. Due to the wonked out aiming system, I couldn't even get a bead on one, even hipfiring when they were 5 meters in front of me because they're so fast and turn speed is so slow. |

Totally agree.
Besides hit detection and aiming, weapon swapping is the next big thing that influences gunplay in this game. Especially considering the nerf to range and until today the reduction in damage. Going to need a 2ndary to finish someone off if close enough.
Uprising made the weapon swapping worse. While Chromosome wasn't great at it, it wasn't this bad. Needs to be looked at please.

You have free LAVs that you should be using if you have a huge map to travel through.
As far as scout speed goes, the stasis webifier from the electronic warfare suite of skills will take care of that I assume...Due out in the next 12 months. |

Seriously. If you wanna play COD, go play COD. That's what all this sounds like to me. Any changes they make in these regards will be changed across the board, for your opponents too. That is, they'll be crossing the map just as quickly, they'll be swapping weapons just as quickly, and they'll be ninjknifing just as fast, which means it will all balance out again, and you'll have the same problems you had before. |

Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is BattleCry1791. I'm a member of and former clan leader of PFB, which is now part of PFBHz. Before becoming one of the top ten clans on this game, we were a top five clan on the game MAG for two years.
I hate CoD. Most of our members do. We like a bit more out of our gaming than TDM and dropping a nuke. We play objective based game modes and we win a lot more than we lose. While it's true some of our members may be requesting some things that may be self centered, most of us actually want to see some sort of common sense or balance in the games we play.
For example. As to your first point. What cover are you talking about? Sniping is a lot less common in this game compared to previous builds. Due to the overall range nerf, it doesn't matter how far away you see someone. You literally have time to stop of at starbucks, get a latte (like all you hipster douchebags like to do), and read a review of the local theatre company's production of the vagina monologues before either of you are in range to engage. My argument is simple. Let's get to the action faster by increasing stamina. That's all. Now, there is one thing that would have to be implemented that I didn't think of in my initial post, and that's increasing the amount of stamina that jumping takes since there would be so much excess stamina available. There's no hidden agenda. I just want to make the game more interesting and get to the meat of it faster. It won't affect anyone adversely with the exception of snipers and tankers who snipe, and those guys can adjust.
What do you think a side arm is FOR genius? It's a damn back up weapon. Why do you need a back up weapon? In Case you're main weapon runs out. This isn't difficult. Now, in the real world, there may be different uses for a side arm (R. Lee Ermy has some great comments regarding the 1911 vs the Beretta in such regards). But in the case of a video game, the secondary weapon is a back up. Having it take FOREVER to swap to it or to throw a grenade is crap. The grenade especially because by the time you can actually throw it, the group you want to frag has already dispersed, negating their effectiveness due to a game mechanic.
And lastly, as to scout speed. Look at the Minmatar scout suit. It's literally designed to be a ninja knife suit. Go ahead. Look at it. And right now it's not effective. Should guys be able to go 45-0 with it? No, way too much. That'd be broken. But right now players move just as fast going backwards as they do going forwards. Since the knives don't hold a charge and the speed difference isn't that different, the ninjas are completely ineffective. If CCP wants to create that game dynamic and offer that playstyle for players that like it, then they need to go all the way supporting it. And I say that as someone who plays primarily as a Heavy, a Logi, or a Tanker. Again, I don't run scout, but from the limited times I have, I can see that a dedicated scout player isn't getting the build he thought he would. That's called thinking of someone other than yourself. You should try it sometime, jack ass.
In conclusion, I'd like to state that, again, these are just common sense items that don't take a lot of brain power to figure out. Understandably, you don't get it. Stamina should be increased to create faster to the battle play. The current swap speeds aren't just slow, they're wonky and unpredictable, thus broken. And Scouts need to be faster so that they can actualy play the role they are built for.

At least weapon swapping isn't as clunky as it was in chromosome (where if you tried to do quick swap the game wouldn't register the command). Now if only grenade throwing wasn't as clunky (in similar manner)
Also grenade throwing is a bit wonky now. |

(1) If you repeatedly activate the sprint animation by clicking L3 over and over (or shift on a keyboard) you will sprint without using stamina. At the correct frequency and with enough stamina recharge, you can actually make stamina gains.
(2) The swap outs are entirely dependent on the network latency. You'll notice that if you aren't lagging swapping happens almost instantly.

Disagree on point one and three. Skilling up will get you to where you want to be as will biotics. For example I have my Gallente Medium suit fitted with a speed biotic, and if I was to skill up the skill that gives me +5% to stamina, speed and such as well as this I would be really fast and have decent stamina.

As a Heavy, I think the weapon swap speed is fine. I use an HMG/SMG combo and Swapping back to and fro is good. Not rediculously slow, not rediculously quick either.
As for the speeds? The element of distance adds a strategic value to the game of the time it takes you to deploy from the MCC to the fight.
Lets take domination for an example:
If you could get to the objective from the MCC in half the time you could now, this would render the strategic value of the Clone Reanimation Unit - useless. I happen to like the speed. The scouts are fast, and I can tell a good scout from a bad scout because I'm a good heavy. Good scouts jump around strafe left and right and use the environment to come at me like Predator. A bad scout will charge me head on with a shotgun, and if he has an AR he just strafes left and right.
Increasing stamina - run speed is fine. You're using a Dragonfly suit, which is the equivelant to the Basic Standard suit. I think that until you've tried the prototype suit and have given it a decent go with all prototype/complex modules, you have no room to make demands. I don't see many other posts about this issue (and I've only seen one other forum mentioned about weapon swap), so it must be just you.
If I failed to mention it earlier. The scouts are fast, not fast enough to be impossible to kill, but fast enough to make them difficult if they've closed the distance on me. |

For stamina if you want a larger pool in my opinion that's almost asking for no stam limits at all. Right now it's noticeable but I personally have no issues with slowing to a jog while waiting for it to refill enough.
I see a lot of elitist tryhards mashing sprint at every second after they're out cause they just can't wait to shoot that next militia merc. Seems like a personal problem or a problem that wasn't accounted for in your playstyle & fitting.
My advice? Put militia or STD biotics module on. That's what they're there for. |
