Last build everybody was complaining about the lasers, now you have a weapon which is even more OP then the Laser used to be but thats okay, simply because its an AR? Seriously? You all were complaining about the lasers, and right now, the TAR IS the laser.
CCP has to do something about this. Nerf the range, or nerf the dmg, or nerf the shooting frequency. Or do it like they did it to the laser: nerf every statistic this weapon has :D
The game feels now very different and I think most of the weapons are balanced because they are all quiet weak, even the protos. The problem with this is that the TAR stands out so much from this. So we have to make all weapons this powerful, or simply nerf this one weapon, your decision CCP.
There is big difference between a TAR and a Laser. You don't just slice your enemy under 2 seconds as lasers did. You'd actually have to aim and put it multiple shots. Nerf? Phhh... Why ? Killing you too many times? Pick one up and see if it's as easy as Lasers used to be.... |

I've been trying to use it, it was semi successfull. The odd part is that its for me a very good cqc weapon, much better than the Duvolle. To land enough shots at distance though, especially on a moving target is very hard and only the very best manages to pull it off.
I am however very weary of bringing down the nerf hammer too soon. Do we want to go back to 90% of players using a Gek or a Duvolle?
I have to do some more testing but it seems to me that I don't have gun game enough (Just ask any Imp, I'm just a scrub...) to use it more effectively than I can with a 60 bullet AR, I don't think its right to ask for a nerf on that basis....
So far I've been shot a lot by tac ARs but they seldom kill me and they're almost useless at supression compared to the old laser, a little zig zagging and bunny hopping makes me close the distance in most chases without taking too much damage.
Let it be for now, its too early to tell.
It isn't easy to use. Not with a DS3 atleast. I dont use KBM so can't comment on that. If KBM worked properly, this Gun would be very effective.... |

TAC + Scrambler is god at almost any range.
However lets be careful to avoid calling the TAC OP until we see the role scrambler rifles will play. I predict the scrambler rifle will be a slightly less damage, less kick, more range, TAC AR. In which case, youll see the battlefield dominated by both TAC AR and Scrambler Rifles, with normal ARs being more of a mid/ CQ role.
The thing about the TAC is if you get the drop on someone its less of an auto win than the regular AR because due to kick the effective DPS is lower. If I get the drop on someone with the standard ARs, they are dead before they can react. With the TAC, they can usually start running or turn around before I can get enough shots in due to kick.
Now...they are still likely very dead. But just saying, there are draw backs to it. It requires more skill to use. Hitting moving/strafing targets is harder cause you cant just spray at them. Personally I love the combat in this game with TAC rifles dominating compared to what it was before with standard rifles.
The old rifles felt more of a toss up 1on1, these feel like the better player wins.
Agreed. Spending a lot of time, trying to get used to it. Its a good challege |
