Hi all,
Feedback:
After going through the marketplace and weighing up all the suits, as a logi i was dissapointed to find that at the lower level of progression, there is nothing suitible for logistic support. Yes i'm aware of the specialisation for Logistics, but you have to take balance into account.
Let me explain.
All militia and Medium basic frames are viable for entry level Assault classes with low skill points, there are many suitable low cost (both isk and SP) choices for them.
However.. the soonest a logi has access to a suit which has the 'needed' 2 equipment slots is at 1,933,940 skillpoints.
Otherwise we are forced to choose between an injector for revival or a repairgun for fixing. In my honest opinion, the most basic form of logi should be able to take both... otherwise what difference is there between the assault class and the logi? We need our equipment slots to support people.
I made this spreadsheet when assessing skillpoint requirements before making a choice on where to spend them.. you'll see the top right shows the skillpoint requirements to get into the logistics specialisation suits.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar1UhU3xT-XrdHlWNlR6dlRKcjJLOGR3M2E3eWRnMGc#gid=0
Request:
To this end, all i request is that there is some consideration to changing a couple of Militia and Medium Frame Basic suits so that some of them have the 2 equipment slot minimum requirement for a logi. Which gives logistics players an entry level suit to use.
Justification:
Further down the line, if new players can only afford the cheapest suits and are struggling to compete against fully skilled players, and thus can't be competive even to a limited amount... then logi's provide a good alternative to help them be effective. If a new player can hop into a basic logi suit and revive and repair their allies, all of a sudden that new player becomes very effective on the battlefield if player properly. Therefore i believe the justification behind it would enhance entry level gameplay.
Just a final note to say this isn't a whinge because it doesn't effect me as i thankfully have enough skillpoints to jump into an advanced suit.. but think of the new players please people. The main effect it has on high skillpoint players is it gives us a low cost suit to grind with and yet still be able to be effective too.. All other suits have this low level alternative, but currently Logi's do not have this at all.
Cheers.

Yep, so many things they could do to make it feasible, this is definately one of ways i think it would work nicely also.
Cheers for the support.

It propels the use of low level logistics suits for those that cannot afford the prototype or would like to go into a cheaper build without having an enormous difference in support capabilities. |

+1, completely agree. I was always going to write a feedback like this so I thank you for doing it and doing it even better. I want to go even further, I demand that there exists a militia logistic suit with 3 equipment slots. The milita items are for new players to explore what play style they want to commit to. Expecting new players to dump 1,9M SP just to get the taste of the logi is completely bonkers. |

This issue causes us logi's alot of sp sink to use a suit. This makes me think that between ccp creted the logi, decided they dont like us and are doing everything they can to disuade us from using the logi suit. |
