If the CPM truly intends to represent the Dust community then I would hope that they recognize the recent groundswell of support for a SP respec on the 14th of May. I would ask that each member publicly support the recent player's initiative to get this done. Thanks. I'll be the first to start. You'll be happy to know that a full respec following an adjustment to the skill tree in order to reduce the overall SP requirement back in the direction of Chromosome-level train times was actually one of the primary "must-do" items on the CPM's agenda. Not only that, I think there is a strong possibility that we will see this, and see this within the month. No promises or dates here yet - but based on the positive reception from CCP I think this is quite likely at this point, enough to say so publicly. |

I saw that, Im curious since the only people that can sticky a post is CCP and that thread with that info got stickied and it was announced by CPM.
If thats the case, GM Hercules would need to shut down the info in the sticky... Im only re-pasting the info announced by our CPM that was declared during a meeting with CCP. |

EDIT: I see another thread got shut down, Im curious as to why since it was discussed by CPM, in the sticky.
It got shut down because the title said 'confirmed'.
And nothing is 'confirmed' until ccp themselves have posted about said respec.
That post falsely gave information in the thread title, sparking numerous people speculating about such respec.

OH well, I just the community that doesnt read the full threads (specially in stickies) to know what the CPM has said regarding their meeting with CCP. thats the only reason for this topic. I can change the title again if needed. |

Well, that's nice.
My measly 3,000,000 something SP is just going to get spent the same way though. I thought I made a mistake at some point, but I looked through the skills and realized that, nope, Minmatar Logistics really was the way to go for me.
Not spending any points in weapons until i've got my "gotta have" upgrades, which is gonna take a while, so i'm safe either way. |

Well, what CPM has said and other posts by devs across the forum is that they are looking at the complaints regarding "SP Sinks" so even if you are happy with your build, if it gets changed, you might have some SP left over to try new stuff :) |

Frustrating. I understand closing it, but waiting for further explanation from CCP is... exhausting. We will wait and watch.
Respec is needed. Nay, demanded.
The last time players demanded something, you may remember a terrible ending to the 3rd title in a well known sci-fi game, the creators, developers, and PR knew they had made a huge mistake but could never confirm it in public. They kept saying that they stood by their artists decisions while creating a new ending.
You see, the precedent that would be changed because of an acceptance of the bungle would have changed gaming history and presented further challenges down the line when a similar situation came around and the developer was publicly forced to change something again buy the public.
That is why it is important from the Company's perspective to control the situation, even if the people have the best idea in the world, and deny deny deny. Then they do what they want while semi-appeasing the public. Any other action could have lasting and terrible results for a company - at least that is what they seem to believe.
However, CCP is known for listening - maybe not feedback but at least listening - and trying to make things better for their customer base. Something that is very different from many other companies. Which is why a player making the comment that something is "confirmed" could not be allowed. At least that is my opinion.
It has to come from the company. |

Well, CCP is active today on the forums, and some people like CCP Remnant agreed that he accidentally the dropsuits (the AUR ones).
So, regarding the outrage of the community, and the fact CPM was very strong about respec, and that CCP (as per CPM) seems to agree, im quite certain we might be getting good news.
I voiced my opinion quite emotionally in the past few days regarding my disappointment. I have been proven wrong before and Im willing to wait a little bit (emphasis on litte, thats not what she said) to see where this might lead.
The notes coming up shortly will be a go or break situation for many people. |
