I had a look trough FW on the update and what ive noticed what would corps stop from Q-sync their squads in those matches? Its even very simple to do cause you can choose which side you want to fight for (defender/attacker). So lets say a fresh match is on the battlefinder and 3 squads (2X6 man squads+1X4 man squad= 16 players) are on comms in a private room. They all agree to join the attacker side as quickly as possible when a new match is posted up and of course all end up on the same team vs 16 blueberrys. So what you think is going to happend? Pubstomp matches beyond believe. However this can aswell end up for random corp matches 16vs16 where 2 q-synced teams face each other. FW will be very brutal and mercyless compared to normal public matches. |

I think that is the point of this implementation of FW, the whole idea is to pull organized groups out of typical quick matches. |

This is the point and intention of Factional Warfare. If you don't want to be pubstomped then go to Instant Battle. Factional Warfare is supposed to be higher risk higher reward and give corps something better to do then pubstomping in Instant Battles. |

Yep... give organized groups a place to play, 100% behind that.
However.....
Due to longer queue and load times, there needs to be an increased benefit for participating in FW. Give them increased payouts... more salvage... unique FW items... Loyolty Points from the faction in question, etc...
Right now, there is no incentive for them to wait for a "star" to appear, then wait for the battle to start, then wait on the warbarge for 4.5 minutes.... when they could just go pub match and get into a game faster, while reaping the same rewards. |

And dying less due to easier competition. Something needs to be reworked here.

Loyalty points for sure at least. I wouldn't go for increased SP or ISK rewards yet at least though. As posters above have said, at least part of FW intention is get organized corp squads out of Random, if we make FW worth more financially then everyone is going to want to go there and it is essentially just the new random pubs |

Maybe. |

That would be totally okay, you know why?
Cause it would keep all of the vets out of instant battle, allowing the newer players to catch a break from being protostomped into nothing.
Instant battle for newer players with less skill and SP, FW for vets and highly skilled players.
In fact, they should consider completely redoing the SP per match in FW as well, something along the lines of 5 SP/WP + 1 WP/s. In addition, they should be doubling or tripling the isk payouts and chance of salvage. They should do this immediately while we wait for them to flesh out a more comprehensive reward system for FW.
They should even consider reducing instant battle payouts by around 30-40% as well. This way they can make instant battle not financially sustainable for proto wearers.
These are easy changes that could quickly help change the landscape of how we treat non-PC battles, and make this game MUCH more noob friendly in the process. |

that's what FW is supposed to be for. But unfortunately there are not enough faction warfare games to do this. My hope for FW is that it is 24/7 corp battles, but that won't happen. |

I'm still not sure why people are asking for salvage right now. It is getting more useless as we go because there are about 10x as many specialties making what you will get useful, probably only 1% to 5% of the time. Hopefully they open up a player market or P2P trading soon, but even then, do you want to spend a ton of game time spamming chat about what you want to sell?
I think standings make sense. I wonder what you'd tie it to though? Performance in battle? Time in battle? Victory vs defeat? Would you get better rewards if you killed MCC vs clones? Would there be ways to get negative standings? Then what do standings give you? Is it aggregated at the corp level and what kind of bonuses does it provide? Would there be some kind of maintenance for it? Can they be lost?
If you watched the CCP Eve design blog they talk about how good new game elements need to have clear goals. I have a lot of ideas for more ways to tie FW in Eve and Dust together but battle incentives are probably one of the first things...
So what would be some goals you would want for FW rewards?
Here are mine:
-Provides an increased value for those who participate over pub matches. -Incentivizes higher skill, team play, and commitment over casual solo farming, but doesn't completely restrict casual play. -Rewards 'role' work rather than general combat. -Provides a kind of 'vanity/pride' content between PC and pub matches. -Doesn't eliminate the mercenary feel central to Dust.
Another thing to keep in mind is that rewards may not have to be at the end of battle. Players could attmept to fulfill personal FW contracts listed on the marketplace, possibly tracked by the CREST system and maybr more than one at a time. They could start simple and get more complex as time went on. Beginning with something like "achieve 5 victories for Gallente in under 12 contracted battles" and get to something as complicated as "destroy 10 enemy CRUs in 5 or fewer contracted battles with the Minmatar Militia"
Example: Contract Type: Psychological Warfare Issuing Corp: Tribal Liberation Force Condition for fulfillment: [25] [headshots] against [any enemy FW opponents] in [4 days] with [any weapon]. Reward: 5 Balac's Sniper Rifles, 2,500,000 isk. 1.5% standings increase with TLF. Penalty for failure: -.1% standings
or
Contract Type: Medical Specialist Issuing Corp: Templars Dragonaurs Condition for fulfillment: Provide [15,000] HP worth of healing on dropsuits in 5 contracted battles with the Templars Dragonaurs. Reward: Officer grade repair tools and officer grade repair nanohives, 750,000 isk. 1% standings increase. Penalty for failure: none.
Basically contracts like this would mean that squads would have lots of dynamic goals that they could be attempting to achieve while in battle and goals would be personal, corporate, and not so much ideological or Eve based. The time and battle limit could mean that there would be a higher reward for forgoing the normal way of fighting. |

WTF love it, and already play it sometimes since 6th --> it is the purpose of FW (or a part of), but games are full before WR, and WR is 5min long, so they have time to see who is in front They made their choice.
And sometime we've got surprises (we love surprises ;))
The other fun part is that you play with Capsulers already --> you can see blue or red squares in the sky when some are connected to district, and of course you can call for orbitals. When you call one, and Capsuler confirmed it, you see Capsuler's name on DUST screen.
Not so much, but we can already see some "problems" with a 16 man deploiyement...
Have a meet tonight ?
Edit : There are 3-4-5 servers max open. Frame confirmed that there is an issue and they are fixing it. Sometimes we have to wait 15-20 minutes to sync. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=74888&find=unread |
