yea though that will give them all a chance to exp the game they will soon find out though that when they decide to try the regular matches that they are very out matched and that the whole time they was lvling up so was everyone else lol. So personally i dont think it does much to solve the problem only hide it.

Im not sure what you are saying. That by seperating ppl til they reach 4mil that once they reach 4mil that the ppl that was at 4mil are now at 8mil will make this a new game and give new players a chance to compete? Not trying be smart ass just not sure what you was trying to say.
Thanks Erik |

granted i didn't read the entire thread, just the first post. now with that said.
you said something about a full reset on launch, i wouldn't mind but your talking about fairness to beta players in the same sentence. You've been with DUST about a week, this game has been in beta for over 2yrs...correct me if im wrong...I know I've played for about a year, and i think that the updates from codex to chromosome and from chromosome to uprising was the only updates that we didn't have a full reset, SP, ISK, AUR, Gear...everything.
I know that I've been through at least 3 of those resets, if not more. in Codex i had 11mil SP, build before that i had 5mil. Chromosome to Uprising i had 7mil so that's 23mil SP in total. Other players have had tons more i believe. We've been through those resets, Bugs where Dropsuits are all invalid once you go into battle but are completely usable once you reset. Oribital Strike spamming due to WP farming. Fully automatic Tac Rifles and RE spamming. And tons more. We all know how to get the best SP and WP for our play style? why? because we've been here for so long. and so far the only thing I've noticed that the beta players have that the players wont be able to get once the game launches is the skinweave suits. and some of the other special rewards.
i don't care either way if they reset everything or not, plus side is ill get my AUR back.
This is New Eden...Stronger corps, stronger players have to be present to give new players something to strive for. |

Ok i get all that you are saying but what am i missing here? How many beta have you played where you start out with pretty much full gear when a "new Game" is released? As far as fairness to beta players i am clear on saying that most games will compensate them with some kind of exclusive gift or something but "not a head start in the game"
I understand that you and many have been in beta for a long time and have seen the ups and downs of the game. That is part of a beta. Corrrect me if im wrong but "beta" is a test Testing a game. Therefore how does any of that make any difference to this being called a new release when it is not that at all it is a beta release where ppl are starting out ahead of other.
It isnt about what they get it about what they have and that is a head start. I mean to be honest like you said it doesnt matter much to me what they end up doing. I am just saying that i dont see it being attractive to new players not "NOW" or in the "FUTURE" if they dont address Players being able to have some sort of way to catch up a bit faster then the existing players. This is true now and will be true in the future if this game continues on. This is not a EVE mmo it is a FPS and fps come out on ps3 and xbox like every 2months or more. So to keep a lot of ppl here or for that matter to get a lot of ppl here i dont believe the way this is set up is going do it.
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.

they get owned because they want to run around uncoordinated, same way someone in proto still dies because he's playing like an idiot, even with a crutch the new players who refuse to squad/comm will still get owned |

It's not any different than someone coming in a month or two late. Any players that come in and look at the game as a strategic standpoint will do well at the game. |

It is different, though. Yes, you'll always have a few late joiners, but you'll never see the same sudden surge of new players that will occur at launch. This will be the game's opportunity to make either a good or bad first impression.
Launch is when the critics will be watching, and what the reviews will be based upon, not when Joe Latecomer joins a month from now.
How these new launch players view the game, and whether they recommend it to their friends or not, will ultimately have a significant impact on how successful it is. |

High sec low sec and null sec battles is the solution to that. It means High security low security and no security. The lower security, the more isk per battle. Null sec would go as far as millions of isk a battle. With possibly even a third AI enemy (drones) in them. High sec battles will simply not give enough isk for adv+ users to be economically sustainable. Now im using the term more loosely here, a null sec battle would have " no security" because you are fighting In a system in the depths of space. (this is al part of EVE) But when will they add it? It needs to be soon or new players simply won't stay. |
