The patch has fixed things
Except if you did get the shield extenders from unlocking the dropsuit skills or unlocked the damage control by also unlocking dropsuit skills you have lost SP because they have changed the requirment on them, you actually need vehicle skills but they have not given you SP back if you did put them into the dropsuit skills so they want you to skill into vehicle skills now
I have to reskill into shield again to unlock the best shields for my Gunlogi even tho i already did it once and its was CCP fault
I had to skill up because i was unhappy with my madrugar and i wanted to test out gunlogi but not with milita shield extenders
Another screw up by CCP and i lose SP yet again
Once again i will call for an SP respec |

But it was kind of obvious that this was a glitch and it would get fixed eventually so yes it sucks you spent sp on something that now doesn't help you but you would probably just been better off holding off on spending sp on the shield skills till they fixed them. |

I needed them
For all know it would have taken a week for a fix
CCP knows its a problem so the sensible thing would have been a SP refund for those who have skills into it
Not keep the SP and make you skill into it again

There was a previous build where vehicles used dropsuit skills. For the tankers that wanted to actually use modules on their tanks... we got kittened.... |

I am not saying they are not accountable a mistake this big is really bad for them but it should have been obvious that the vehicle modules should use vehicle skills and since they didn't it was logical to assume this is a bug and hold off on spending sp on dropsuit skills to get vehicle modules till you knew if it was getting fixed or not yes you would have had a few days of not having shield skills on your HAV's but that would be preferable to spending SP on skills you know shouldn't effect it then losing that SP when the glitch gets fixed. |

I know that but the fact that there were seperate vehicle module skills as well should have set alarm bells ringing I agree you should get a respec for this but I doubt anyone will unless they do a full game respec on launch to fix the other problems I was just pointing out I would have held off for a few days. For example I use MD's if they were bugged where I needed points in AR to upgrade them I would have just not bothered till it was fixed yes I would have been temporarily weaker but its better than pinning your hopes on a respec which sadly looks unlikely at this point. |

This doesn't even affect me, but I'm totally on board with it for 1 simple reason.
SP is the end all be all of this game.. skilling up and the entire MMO aspect are the reason people put up with the ridiculously slow development, never ending work in progress that has had its highs and lows. The concept that is slowly evolving before our eyes is unique and appeals to all of us.
that said, SP is more valuable than AUR, ISK or even Zitro's gold plated teeth he got out of the back of a van on the south side.
This was an error on the part of CCP, which they have now fixed, but the SP so many of you invested to fit your vehicles is now wasted. Sure a couple months down the road you would justify spending that SP on the dropsuit portion, but that should be for YOU to decide, and now while you were saving up for that advanced turret or hardener or whatever, you now have to save up and spend the SP you already used so you can have the shields you already had...
that's REGRESSION.... not PROgression
from MY point of view, it makes no difference as I have used my SP the same I would do if given back, BUT none of my SP has been put into skills that the game itself has rendered obsolete for my character |

Shield extention is also a x5 skill, so i would need to get to lvl 3 i would need 342k SP total
It may have cost me half of that if CCP gave me a refund for the SP i put into the dropsuit skills just so i could fit out a gunlogi
Either way i need to spend 342k more now for a tank which basically isnt worth it anyways |

Doesnt matter
How am i to know how long it would take to fix things
I did take a risk but i expect CCP to also realise that it was a mistake on ther part which forced our hand if we were going for shield tanked vehicles

as intensive as the skill tree is now, which I'm not complaining about needing more SP to skill into more things to round out your character, most everyone who has played this game for even a short time understands the importance of specializing in whatever you choose.
this puts SP at an even greater premium, and the case with the extenders is a perfect example. No one made a mistake to dump their 300k SP on day 1 to get these.
on day 4 it now looks like every single person who did that DID make a mistake, where in reality the requirements literally changed overnight, rendering that SP useless for the specialty you are working on.
I just hope this is acknowledged by the higher ups and remedied, either by resetting that skill or a general unallocation come launch.
Honestly I cant see it being an issue but then again Im not a developer |

Stfu with your should have held on to your sp.
Ccp f:ed up not him, he shouldn't have to hold on to anything and why the hell was it obvious that it was a glitch, i've never played eve and never will, thus dont know what is supposedly correct skill progression of shield usage apart of what the game says it is, so in this case it said skill into dropsuits and so he rightfully did.
Obvious my a.s.s.
Edit: EnglishSnake, you don't need to defend your actions to people saying you should have waited, you knew what you wanted and went for it, you are in the right and if someone can't see it, well sad day for them because im sure a respec option is on its way. |

It doesn't mean that we don't know when it's going to be fixed even though it already has been.
And in light of how promptly CCP fixed the typo that gave Viziams 20 damage instead of 15, not expecting a prompt resolution is a pretty sensible plan.
And we still don't have a straight answer on what's happening with Engineering or how they plan to buff tanks back to being a viable option - just that they're going to somehow make them more survivable. |

Agreed. CCP is anything but prompt when it comes to fixing errors with their game. Their marketplace is still riddled with inaccuracies that have been there since the E3 Build last Summer.
As for the issue at hand, I agree 100% for another respec on the 14th. The stealth PG nerf and then this change to Vehicle Shields is more than enough to warrant it. |

You mean CCP should double check updates before they go out
But after each release i aint going to spend a single SP point into anything until i know it works and its fixed if its broken
Im not doing this ever again

You want us to spec into many things but yet have the nerve to give us an SP cap. Why? I ruined my 6 mil SP 4 of which went into Proto suit, why a cap any more? |

How can you have F-ed this up soooo much?

I mean come on 10 years with EVE and you are going to let Sh*t like this pass as a finished game?
PC is going to fail big time because of this so I would suggest you push release and PC out at least a month. |

Still think the respec needs to happen though.
Hopefully they can just admit they messed up, and refund everyone again. Worth mentioning, I haven't spent a single skill point on my account, so this has no direct affect on my. Only an alt (or two) have skilled into anything. Ones that were created specifically to test things to see if they worked etc...

Have a different take on your points - CCP should include a suit builder which encompasses needed SP and requirements so players can see what they need and figure out what they want to go after first.
Some of us like spreadsheeting but many others just want to get what they want and will be disappointed when they find out they can use what they just acquired. If they want to grow this game, stuff like that is really important imo. |

CCP this wasn`t a we didn`t look at the skills this is a we looked at the skills and we couldn`t play so we had to, then you "fixed' it and cheated us off so we need 500k or higher SP to just use are vehicle load-outs, does it look like we would have this SP laying around after you cheated us? this was no where near are fault, yes its a beta but if theres no fix to the shield tech respec then it cheats us in the full game, + what ever SP I did save up it has to go just to redo something that wasn`t my fault, this should be the #1 fix in release skill wise since again, it wasn`t are fault, you never came out warning us either. |
