Can we at least get something like this http://images.myperfectcolor.com/repositories/images/colors/MPC00002255-2.jpg? And maybe tone it down on the brightness a little? |

The color choice was just silly. It makes logis super-visible (a horrible idea in combat) and it calls out their role (a horrible idea in combat). CCP proved with the description on the Firebrand suit that they know that being super-visible on the battlefield is a negative, then they went and made it standard on an entire class. Calling out roles in an obvious fashion is just as stupid as putting shiny hats on officers so enemies know how to kill the leader. |

The point is no one needs to SEE who the logis were and who the assaults are. Sticking out less is advantageous. That's why the game has stats like "Scan precision". If I can tell at a glance exactly what you are, it doesn't matter. Ex: Imagine you have five soldiers attacking you. You know one of them can revive his teammates, but the others are just grunts. Would it be helpful to kill the person that can support his teammates? Imagine if you could figure that out (you CAN with SCAN PRECISION!)
OR.... The suit designers can go full ****** and paint support characters bright yellow so people know where the medic/support character is. Which sounds like a more sound, rational decision on the part of a combat force? Bright yellow logis only helps the enemies.
All suits of a certain size COULD look the same. Assaults and Logis share a frame-size, it would make sense for them to blend in together to not give the enemy unneeded information. This is why the armed forces (say in Afghanistan, WW2 Germany, or whatever) didn't have officers in bright red jumpsuits while everyone else wore camo. It makes them targets! It gives enemies information!
Heavies and Lights will look different because they have to... because there is a literal size difference. |

Medics are always first targeted in ANY MMO. In every MMO the medics are quite noticeably medics whether it being different suit designs, healing animations, or even simply giving different roles different symbols to represent them. |

Of course they're the first targeted! That's the point! That's why you don't want them friggin yellow.
The idea here is that the suit manufacturer in-universe is purposely crippling the people they sell suits by making them A) More visible and B) Calling out their role. It's asinine.
People figure out medics in MMOs because they are high priority targets. Considering our suits are the same size as assaults, it would be ADVANTAGEOUS to not look different than the assaults, much less look really really obvious. It makes no sense tactically. It is, in fact, a horrible decision tactically.
What's more CCP agrees with me. They said so themselves on the Firebrand suit that calling attention to yourself with a flashy suit was asking for it, basically. They then standardized bright flashy suits for everyone that's a high priority target.
If the enemy wants to identify who is a medic, it should be done through their EWAR abilities, scanners, scan precision, and so on could be used to identify a logistics player.
The way they have it now, we effectively aid the enemy by telling them exactly what we do, when NOT doing so would be as simple as a bucket of paint. |

I guess everyone missed the point where its easy to spot the logi on your team and leg it to him for reps. Because if the enemy is close enough to see he is a logi ur team has done somthing wrong |

The game includes something called "ranged weapons" oddly enough.
You don't need to have a suit color (which helps the enemy) when you have voice comms (which the enemy does not). That's the reason we have comms... to communicate. Using communication that cues the enemy would be like putting turn signals on tanks. Sure, the troops know where their tank is heading, but it would sort of let the enemy know too. That's why we can talk about such things with mics. |

Why not under scan profile. Excessive cpu and pg usage. We don't know they are a red dot Logi but....because they are using a bastard amount of points, we could assume Logi. Team mates would get (I like MAG) a + next to the name. Maybe minor symbols, like a plus for pickup. Something for reppers. Maybe a set symbol for what we have for equipment
You made the game complex enough, why not one more step to figure out who heals, ammo, and necromancy. |

Wow, I guess it's just you and me who appreciate that. It's now much easier to spot your team's logistics and move up to them so they can repair you or you can grab some supplies. They could make them neon green or pink or whatever, but it does have the advantage of quickly identifying a team logi.

I like the yellow it just saddens me when I stand in the warbarge and I get surrounded by everyone who isnt a logi and they all start sniggering and orbiting me saying I am the sun, all though to be fair I orbit other logi's aswell lol.
A few of my corpmates claim the Gal logi looks like a skisuit lol.
I do like the yellow mainly because blueberries now seem better at identifying me and occasionally come for repairs. |

I totally agree with you. This would be a minor fix - so Logis instead of having an arrow above their heads " v " would have a cross " + ". This way only your team can see who the Medics/Logis are. The enemy team would still see the red arrow " v ".
(who would wear bright colours in battle anyway? (except for me of course... lol. i'm still waiting on that pink suit )) |
