The gallente ships are a bad thing to measure dropships on right now, they have some major handling issues. The python (caldari ADS) is a dream to fly, has a decent tank, deadly to tanks with proto cycled missiles, and so manoeuvrable you can pull off some crazy turns in that thing. And I heard a corpmate call a logi ship a "bumblebee" a description that fits it so perfectly I might rename my eryx fit to it. |

Ya but the one problem with your shield dropships is that you can be 1 shot out of the air. A proto breach foge can end your day with a single shot where in my armor I can at least last it. I have to agree with the handling issues of a armor dropship. No idea about the caldari though. In my armor assault I am so floaty it is insane it is constantly floating which is ridiculous. something I am going to talk to later. Really need to squad up with someone that has a shield assault dropships and test it out. Caldari handling is fine for the most part , it's heavier than it was last build. I'd say closer to the gallente handling last biodiesel then anything. Python handles a bit lit a viper with a nanofibre on last build, got no issues with it, and it gives you enough health to take the first **** then your speed and manoeuvring ability can stop most forge gun users from hitting you and pretty much all of them if you throw afterburners into the mix. |

Caldari can't tank forge guns true, but it's more than manoeuvrable enough not to get hit in the first place, at least the python is. |

Hovering seems difficult because you have to point nose down at the target (losing altitude fast). I have considered level fast attack runs but keeping the reticle stable while in motion is challenging.
Thanks for advice Use the third person view and use the right stick to move the turret up and down, the first person view is useless for the exact reason you described. Since the ads seems to have an inherent forward drift you'll spend most of your time flying over a target turning then flying back over them. If you push the right stick down it maximises the amount of time you can fire in the target, kills your forward view though so make sure your clear before you do it, your liable crash otherwise. And whatever you do, don't linger in one place too long, your liable to get hit by AV.
Also don't under estimate how high blaster turrets can shoot, those things tear through dropships if you give them the chance. |

Yeah in my experience with the pythons I've had much more luck with hovering near a target for15-30 seconds then flying off out of range, either to another area if the map, or just straight up out of range. Then coming down on another target. I think it's just a case of staying mobile and speed tanking. |

Thus far I have killed 2 militia tanks, 1 myron, 10 infantry, around 4-5 LAV's, and probably around 20 turrets. I have many more assists on all of those things. I have also sent 2 tank running for the redline, and kept a madrugar hiding under a building fir over half an ambush. On the downside I've probably lost around 15 pythons, it's been an expensive learning Curve. |

I can never pull it off, is it a case of outrunning them, or getting an object between you, and them? Either one works, the best tactic is not to get shot in the first place. |

I figure that getting used to the increased inertia with the slower ships will help getting the hang of the more agile ADS.
All the info on the new ADS is great, but does anyone have feedback on dropping troops with the new squad size? Has anyone in a corp taken advantage of inserting 5-6 of your team on top of an objective? If so, what are your experiences? Is this as OP as I think it will be? Haven't had much experience with this yet, however I will say that the python let's you put people places very quickly. |
