So lets try and have a big discussion on this-
So apparently the new role that CCP is forcing on our Heavys is a defensive role. But most of the Chromosome build Heavy player base doesn't agree or doesn't want to play a defensive role. Am I right? So what about giving the heavy a role that allows them to take on the frontlines, so basically giving them the same attributes they had in the last build. So same PG, and CPU and also armor and Shield amount, with similar stats to the HMG last build. Making this Heavy would be another choice for the Heavy player base to choose from. So current defense or frontline ^ choice.
Only reason why Im suggesting this- is because some of my corp members who played as a heavy from build 1, one, uno through all of them, to the current Uprising build. And making them one of the best Heavys in the game... (MY own opinion so shut up) now they chose other class's because Being a Heavy is the only thing they are good at... |

Heavy suits have more stable aim and kick absorbtion
Pick up Duvolle TARs, and people will be crying for a buff to hmgs just so you put down that stuff |

Wouldn't have a problem being defensive if scouts with remote explosives and shotgun didn't do it better. |

Or you can pick up an AR in an Assault suit. I don't what make people think a Heavy with an AR is good. |

After playing with some heavies this build, I think the biggest problem is the damage nerf. The range nerf would have been acceptable on its own, but now the proto HMG doesn't even do what the standard did last build? CCP needs to learn to do small tweaks over shorter periods of time. They should tweak the damage up this week, still too little? They then tweak the damage up a small amount more the next week, etc. etc. |

yeah. Nerfing too much at once.
Missile nerf rings a bell...tact AR nerf rings a bell...
They're going by "data" too much, and not actually testing stuff before they release it. |

I have buddies that are heavy exclusive as well and I agree it sort of sucks for them. I did hear though that they are adding a more offensive specialization for heavies down the road, "Commando" or something like that. Gives up your heavy slot for 2 light slots and less health. Sounds like it could be fun.
Honestly though each frame size should get at least 3 specializations. Medium has Assault and Logistics and is getting Crusader. Light has Scout and will be getting Pilot, and perhaps a "Marksman" more focused for sniping. Heavy has Sentinel for defensive players, this supposed "Commando" role, but would still need something else in my opinion. I'm with you on a more offensive heavy. Take away some health, add a little more speed, and give it a suit bonus for increased heavy weapon damage per level. |

Range is the problem. When you say "Range" you're also saying "Damage." As a Heavy, my damage is 0% effective damage where almost every other player can hit me for 100% of their effective damage. And that is due to range.
Range is completely ridiculous in this game. It's like this in no other game. Throw the hard cap on range out and rework it. |

The range and damage are both issues.
I got into a battle against one of the dedicated heavies in my corp. He was running a full proto fit complete with HMG while I was testing out a new Minmatar Light Frame / Scanner fit. The only tank on this thing is one standard shield extender.
I sat at the edge of his max range with an AR and proceeded to drill into his skull. He didn't even get my shields down past two thirds, and he was firing the whole time. |
