So with the official release hitting next week, I am surprised we have not got a list of trophies that will launch with the game. Anybody got any ideas of what might be listed? |

All PSN releases require Trophies as of September 2009, regardless of MMO status or not (Look at Defiance).
Correction to the month, January 2009 was the required date for trophy support. |

You actually bring up a good point, I believe they are required now. Sony is pretty lenient, wouldn't be surprised if DUST got a free pass for the time being.
Also, other MMO's on PSN have trophies as well.

I can see where Sony might give them a temporary leave to not post trophies to the game on Launch day, but I fully expect them to enforce the policy sooner or later. |

DCUO has them, why should dust not try to compete?
They are probably not coming, but i would like at least this ones:
Bronze:
Participate in a Factional Warfare match
Get any skill to level 1.
Earn 514 ISK ;)
Buy and customize you first dropsuit
Spend 514 ISK on the market
Call in any vehicle
Re-call a vehicle
Be a squad leader
Silver:
Call in a OB in a match
A a squad leader have a full 6 man squad
Complete a match without dying
Win 5M ISK
Gold:
Call in 3 OB in one match
Win 10M ISK
Win 2m SP
Get any skill to level 5
Get a suit skill to level 5
Kill at least one merc of every race in one match
Kill at least one merc using every kind of vehicle in game. (LAV,HAV,Dropships)

Liking the Ideas, but the Killing one merc of each race in a single battle might be tough, especially if they are all wearing the same racial gear, kinda hard to tell the difference.

Trophies are only required for paid games. I think they could be viable in Dust as they were implemented in DCUO; a paid pack that gives you bonuses (eg a kind of pro merc pack). |

Barring Sony's policies, why are trophies important? I never understood the point behind them or the system that spawned them, Microsoft's achievements. It's all just a score to measure your e-peens by. |

It's not that they are important to me, but more of a concern that we have heard nothing regarding them for an official release for a game. Several websites like ps3trophies.org usually have this information well in advance of a games launch, and in some cases helps promote the game through various Review websites (GameInformer, Kotaku) by them linking to the Trophy list. Getting an idea of what trophies are available for the game, can give some people an idea of what the game is about withouth doing much work on their part. |
