It's important to think of pub matches in terms of ISK. Stats and Rep, and even fear or disgust with the opposition are an ephemeral vanity.
Sometimes you're just not in the mood, and just want to go to sleep. Being on the winning side can be just as boring, because now you're competing for kills. = Competing to make money.
I'll seek to kill any hostile wearing proto in a sneaky fashion, usually using a TAR or a Sniper Rifle, because it's an oppotunity to make money. = Again Competing to make money.
Kill a good suit, and bleed an opponent dry. Why walk away? If your support for that match sucks, then don't rely on it. Rely on your knowledge of the map, to get surprise kills from various angles. Who cares about winning the pub match itself? In New Eden, everything is about ISK. Everything.
Even in PC, everything is going to be a war of attrition. |

I just think this post is a bit ironic, to be honest (g)imps leave more matches then most atleast that my experience. but then again most (g)imps are forum warriors.. |

whatever our predictions of a win or loss, you'll rarely find OTB members backing out of a match except on the rare occasion when we realise the whole squad hasn't synced. |

Proto-stomped... Really? Like Reeeeaaally? I'm not a proto guy, and yeah I get steamrolled by these guys to. You feel like there's nothing you can do they are in proto gear, right? WRONG! I take my GEK and BOOM!! Headshots. That'll take 'em down.

I am with you on this one, gbghg. Those matches are pretty damn ugly, too. I've lost track of matches where the red dots went through my blue dots like a scythe ... oftentimes, the final score would be 0 to 65 or 0 to 75 or somesuch crap like that.
Consolation prize? Well, the match ends quickly, and sometimes I still get some pretty nice loot. |

Steel sharpens steel. A match against good players is where it is at, imo. Something challenging, something to really give you thought on ways to improve your game. |

I have to agree with the LOTIS guy on this one. KDR doesn't matter because of people backing out. Who knows what peoples real KDRs would be if they didn't back out. I have never left a match and never will. Its a game people its not real money you are losing. If you never play anyone good then how do you expect to get better. Ill play a whole team of imperfects right now by myself I really don't care. I will still kill some of them and that's all that matters to me. |

i was so happy when in an FW my corp got a match against Imperfects ect but when the gam started I was hit by massive lag, was struggling with just moving and I left the game out of frustration. Hopefully another chance will come and I won't be struck by Lag again lol |

Interesting... Imperfects always leave the battle whenever they know they're going to lose when I play.
Must work both ways.
Edit: Then again, this probably wouldn't happen if Win/Loss Ratio wasn't a statistic |

I don't know. Though, you are not referring to me. I have yet to rage quit due to my opponents. I have left three times though, because the lag was atrocious (I.E I was repeating the same movement for 5 minutes and going through walls). |

I will usually leave, or run militia gear if I see more than 3 people from a corp I know is pretty good.
because I'm a Logi-sister first and formost, when I see the proto-stomping teams, I get wet!!!
being on the wrong side of a heavy slap is great, for drop uplinks, reps and needles...
I GÖÑ imps and the guys like them.
Also...
We have beaten them,... only once or twice and that makes you feel awesome too.
lets be honest, in these matches, you'll only lose cash if you're (like me) not very good and then run a proto suit yourself.
It's easy... Run and Standard suit, with cheap mods and test your skills against them. |

LOL at OP.
I haven't seen any group of players quit more out of various games than I have seen Internal Error, Imps and the swarm. They don't quit right away, they get a death or two and they're off. I wonder how many of you really have "legit" stats.... |

May be a little offtopic, but I am so angry at the matchmaking system right now. My anger goes beyond rage-posting, call surses or trolling only. My anger reached a level of pure sadness and hopelessness. I will try but I canGÇÖt promise not to use the GÇ£F-WordGÇ¥.
Some one please explain to me why the **** did random dickheads and just starting players get in the same match as a fully organized corporation? The hell is CCP thinking? My buddy desperately calls me, asking what the **** to do in this game, how to build a dropsuit; so I invite him and the next three matches we are only randoms against full professional corporations. They dint just win the game, no! They farm us like mushrooms, spawn camping, letting us gain an outpost, only to have someone to shoot at. We had absolutely zero chance to win, absolutely zero. After three matches us both quit and all he has asked me was: THIS is the game you enjoy and telling me to try out!? How the hell is this even a finished game?
IGÇÖm damn proud of my talking skill for convincing him to give it one last try. Becouse I know there are other matches as well. But now I have been thinking, how will other new players enjoy this game? Beginners for example, what will they think IF they manage to find out how to get the gun with just killed them. Realizing that here is a gazilion skill points needed? How long will they enjoy it? IGÇÖm asking you CCP what the **** are you thinking to release this game without a mechanic to select properly who is going to take part in this match and how is not? You just can't throw militia noobs against ... well lets say a ten organized mob of 4mil+ SP. This is no longer a beta!

I feel your pain buddy, but CCP are looking to address this issue, by having a WP cap for certain battles. meaning the proto-bois and corps vets are unable to join. |
