The skill books have the wrong descriptions on them and do not work
What is even worse is that the new descriptions are completely different to the old descriptions and are still skills that i wouldnt want to skill into
It means whatever happens i have SP wasted, but not because of me but because of CCP, i can only take the skill books descriptions at face value and assume they will work and do what they say
But they dont
I means i have wasted SP now and i could have saved it for better things instead |

If CCP had said at some point that they were planning on taking a big steaming dump on vehicles then maybe I wouldn't have specced into them.
If CCP had put up the proper descriptions on the skills, I would have been able to see how badly it was going to go, and I would have avoided being in that mess completely.
So yes, a respec for the people who were misled by CCP's bad info. |

You want a reset because you didn't wait for CCP to fix all the expected issues? I'm sorry, but I didn't have the Sp to get you prototype tissues... You think I need vehicle engineering 5? I don't, but I have it, for the same reason you muffed your skills. It just isn't that great of a deal. |

If this happened to assault players the forums would be filled with the same threads and how they want a reset
But because this happened to vehicle specialists which is a dying class no one gives a flying ****
CCP put out skills, skill said they do Y, instead they do nothing and they are actually ment to do X which is more useless than Y so ive wasted SP because CCP screwed up and somehow its my fault

If it was a case of not reading the skill descriptions you would have a valid point but the TC means that the skill description and what the skill does are 2 completley different things. Imagine if you saw say AR sharpshooter and the description was +5% range per level, you think OOH thats nice I shall get that then spec into it and find out the description is wrong and it does something completley different would you be best pleased? |

Been there done that Medic. I have vehicle engineering species too, and yes it's a shame. But it's a known issue. It also hasn't stopped me running A tank, even if it's not the very best tank I could.
Regarding "this" happening to assault suits? Assault suits too the biggest Nerf this patch. Rubbish hives, and 1 equipment slot. But you don't see everyone crying about it, and demanding a reset. We're just bitching between each other as to which is better; TAR or orbital strike. I think the TAR, seems to do more damage. |

I was one of the people who identified this problem and posted on the forums.
I found it by accident while doing what I THOUGHT was the sensible thing, reading the descriptions of the skills, going through the list and sorting through them, then deciding what to buy and skill into.
I found a skill - Vehicle Engineering - which said it gave +5% to my PG capacity on vehicles.
It doesn't, but I wasn't to discover that until I'd invested heavily into the skill in a futile effort to increase my PG for a fitting I was trying to create.
The devs haven't even given a straight answer on whether the skill is even meant to give the bonus it's described as having, but either way, I've probably over-trained it now even if they fix the skill to match how the current description says it should act. If they change the description and make the passive something other than what I skilled into, I need the ability to remove all my vehicle skills, because it's happened to an alt with less than 3 million SP, and I don't have extra SP to spare for skills that aren't useful for me. If I don't get competent fitting skills for my tank, I'm not going to be able to build a viable tank, and as such, I'm not going to use any of the skills I've poured my SP into. Even if they correct it propely, I want the ability to un-train all the vehicle skills because I overtrained the other skills in order to try and create a fitting I wanted while the skills weren't applying correctly. CCP's failure to provide correct information and correct functionality on skills wasn't my fault, and shouldn't be held against me. If they fix the skills, and I choose to skill into them when they're working as described, then any buyer's remorse is my own fault for choosing to train those skills.
Imagine you go into a shop and ask for a banana, hand over your money, then get given an apple and told "sorry, today's special is that if you ask for a banana, we give you an apple" and when you ask why there's no sign up, they say, "yeah there is!" and pull the sign out from under the counter where it's impossible to see. That's perfectly fair, though, right? Because they decided it was fine to give you something other than what you bought from them? No problems? (pro-tip: if you agree there are no problems with this scenario, you're an idiot) |

Bump
CCP have lied to vehicle specalists and punished them for going into vehicles
I planned ahead with what i would do with my SP
I planned to max out core skills because it would give me 5% PG/CPU per level in electronics and engineering and the core upgrades skill would give me 1% PG/CPU per level also
I thought i would be better off this build along with better missiles and faster railgun shells instead of the usual nerfs
Instead we get less PG which makes the majority if not all tank fits from last build invalid, unable to aim upwards with any of the large turrets, milita grade vehicles as 'advanced' vehicles, dropsuit skills to unlock vehicle modules and no change to AV at all except the lol0SP AV nades which can easy wipe you out before you even get close to anything |

This needs to happen and it needs to happen fast
Or that "word of mouth" CCP is relying on to advertise this game will go something like this
"Hey! Check out this cool game, you grind for months to spend all your millions of points in some skill. Then find out the skill does nothing. Then find out it will take the devs somewhere between 2 weeks and the end of time to 'fix'. Then find out the skill, at the time you invested in it and it was apparently bugged to give you no benefit, was actually intended to do something 500% different (and more useless) than the description which you based that decision on."
That will look good to new players, right? |

If I had not been misinformed by the game, I would have never have thrown my points into a specialization that is so very terrible.
Why would I blow so many points into Tanking if I could just use a Militia Tank?... |

TBH i agree
If i knew i was only getting a 5% bonus to PG instead of the 25% i dont think i would have bothered with armor tanks since they are very PG heavy
So all my skills in armor are useless so i have to go shield if anything
But really i could just go into assault/logi and save up 6months of SP for tanks when they are finally fixed
Plus why do dropsuit get core skills which give 5% to PG but a vehicle doesnt get that skill? its the same in EVE engineerign gives 5% per level
Its straight bias to dropsuits, COD space edition |

I agree, this actually made me want to quit vehicals but i'll still be fine with just the changed skill books refund, altho keeping my PG upgrade skill because my Vehicle Engineering didn't work doesn't sound to awesome - _- |
