They did scam me based on a false promise.
I have a similar feeling. I paid for both Raven and Sever suits, and they cost practically no SP to use pre-uprising. The respec word coming down was that players would keep event items. That's also what their blog said.
Come to find that these suits weren't refunded, because they were event items for people before I started playing the game. They can check transaction history. They can tell I didn't have an account back when those events or merc packs were available. The only way I could get the suit was paying. But even petitioning them individually (help ticket) got the same canned response "they're event items". I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. |

BULLOCKS!
I want my 20k aurum back. I bought sever logistics when it was a 200k sp investment.
Now that its a 3 million SP investment I can no longer afford it as a side toy. give me back the aurum v.v
You can see my exchange with respect to requesting reimbursement here. |

Why didn't CCP refund these suits as well? I'm wondering if they simply have no way to differentiate between those (like myself) who received one as a testing reward, and those like yourself who spent AUR on them, a database thing? I can't imagine the finance department giving the go ahead to effectively hand out free money en masse. Not sure what the going AUR rate is, but something like $20 per suit?
Well, for starters, my account isn't old enough for me to have either been at the event or bought the Merc pack. Anyone who has an account of similar age would be easy to identify as "paid" for the suits. That's not a complicated sort as far as databases go. I could write it right now if CCP needs a free coding lesson. The suits are around $10 per I think. So, those are pretty expensive investments to go collecting cobwebs. |

[During Closed Beta] Player A purchases 10 units of every BPO for dirt cheap at about 50 AUR. Total spent: 5,000 AUR
[Open Beta Arrives] Market prices for AUR BPOs skyrocket to about 4,500 AUR per BPO.
[Uprising Arrives] CCP refunds all AUR items including BPOs at about more or less the same price as was Open Beta. Player A gains massive influx of AURUM. Assuming Player A acquired at least 10 units per unique BPO at 10 unique BPOs, that player will gain 450,000 AUR. That is a 9000% bonus to how much Player A initially paid.
Do we need further clarification on this? How bout cap a refund for one of each. It seems like the logical compromise. Player A still makes out and can wait for player market / trading. Player B who just doesnt want to skill into something he thought he didnt have to doesn't. There are plenty of solutions that can appease both parties.
Really, our transaction history or account age alone is more than enough to sort this out. And even if it was complicated to handle "en masse", there's no reason they couldn't do it when we contacted them individually. |

Cybus Trama'dol wrote:Ok I would try again a support ticket again now the info is better available at CCP. And be nice and state the facts that you paid 19800 AUR and don't want to spend 2mill so each to use. They do have transaction logs. Without going into detail. Trust me, it is the right thing to do
Check the link to my exchange on the first page again. They're aware of the problem. I explicitly told them my account wasn't old enough for it to be an Event or old Merc pack item - said they could check it, and told them they could check my transaction history. After the first denial, I replied again, trying to spell out that not only did I pay for it, I wouldn't have even known people won them before being told that was why I didn't get a refund.
I spelled out in no uncertain terms that it was not an event item, and that I definitely paid for it - that it was impossible for me to have received it in an event (they could check) and they could also check my transaction history. I received a canned response that it was an event item both times. |
