Yeah, I paid for the Sever/Raven BPOs. I made a help ticket explaining I paid Aurum for them, and that the pre-patch notes said that only event/psn items would be retained. I specifically said I paid for them, and they could check. The GM replied that they wouldn't be reimbursing for event items, as per the notes.
I replied again noting that I didn't even have an account when the event happened, nor could I possibly have purchased a merc pack with it last year before I had an account. The only way I could get the suits was paying, and I didn't find out they were event suits and not subject to the reimbursement till I was told they were event items AFTER I didn't get reimbursed and they changed them.
The theory CCP's customer service is working on is that players, however new they may be, need to be personally aware of the history of all in-game items that existed prior to their playing to know if they'll stick to the terms of their reimbursements. Even if said players paid money for the items, if they were unaware they were an award at one point - then it sucks for them.
The ludicrous part is that even if it was an award at one point, they KNOW it was later on the market, and continues to be on the market. So, they had to guess that people that actually did pay would reasonably expect it to be among the "non-militia BPO/non-event aurum items" that were being refunded. It's the literally the most expensive thing you can buy with Aurum, of course people will notice. |

It seems to be mostly a matter of not distinguishing between people that paid for items and people that won them. To me anyway. The individual help ticket should've allowed them to verify specific cases (not being won at an event, etc.). They have chosen not to do this. |

And if that's the case, then it should be pretty damned trivial to refund the exact amount of auran spent by each player.
I can't speak tot the difficulty, but since the event and merc pack were last year things I believe - there's a large chunk where it would be as easy as checking account creation time.
