I spent most of my SP on all the scanning mods to max level. Range, dampeners, and precision enhancers. I honestly dont see any difference. With all the complex mods and without from the passive bonus, the actual use I get or have seen is non existent. I feel like an idiot for wanting to play the meta by being a human scanner instead of getting an active one. I realize theres the hard respec but really? I just got screwed cuz everyone forgot about this little corner on the skills board. |

Did none of you actually read his post? Holy christ, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. The issue isn't that he spent all his SP, but that he spent on it what was supposedly better tracking and scanning equipment, that wound up doing a grand total of f*** all. |

Maybe Ill sumbit a ticket...do the devs only test play what people cry about on the forums? Cuz all i ever see if AR this and HMG that and Proto suits whatnot. Not really any honorable mention or discusion about the scanning and stealth skills as all the other hot topics. I feel like theyve neglected this part that Ive so eagerly wanted to play than be another Proto with a duvolle. But apparently, I get points off for inovation and alternative gameplay methods. |

I did this last build so not sure how things have changed this build, but it's definitely a good skill set to have. You should always know where enemies are so therefore should always be able to get the jump on them. And you should never be sneaked up on. Basically if you are playing solo with this set up only engage in combat when it's on your terms and you have the jump, otherwise hide and look for a different engagement. |

I understand the tactics that go along with this sort of spec, but I honestly see no difference in my abilities with or without. I have an alt speced "normally" and I see and am seen about the same as the one with all the scan and stealth specs. For the amount of SP I spent, I want something that makes me feel the bang for my buck. |

There's always more to learn with any tactic, and this is what you're stuck with so you should try to make the best of it. Like they say, "adapt or die." There will be no more respecs (except perhaps one for light frame and heavy frame suit skills only). |

Think of it this way, you see no difference because the people you have been fighting have not bothered to spec at all into dampening, so even the basic scanner is sufficient to find them. Most of them probably have not spent any SP in anything beyond "core" skills, so until you run into people that have put effort into dampening you won't see a difference between the two. |

On one of my alts, I trained skills for vehicles to improve my PG and CPU stats. I looked at fittings and found I was still short on both for the fitting I wanted, and trained a couple more points into each of the passive skills. I checked again and saw...
ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE. ELECTRONICS AND ENGINEERING AREN'T GIVING THE BONUSES IN THEIR DESCRIPTIONS.
I can't create the vehicles I had planned, and I spent SP trying to do something the game isn't allowing me to do. If those skills aren't fixed to provide the bonuses they advertise, I think it's only fair to demand a refund of the SP spent on them. If another thread on the topic is true, and the text is wrong on Engineering (supposedly it gives reduced CPU cost on PG modules), IT STILL DOESN'T WORK AND IT'S NOT WHAT I WANTED FROM THE SKILL ANYWAY. If they keep the text and fix the skills, I'm still possibly as much as half a million SP down the drain because I over-trained the skill before finding out it wasn't working. if they update the text to offer something different, I'm still not going to be able to build a vehicle the way I want, so I've wasted even more skills - NOT because I decided to do something unusual, but because I WAS LIED TO BY THE SKILL DESCRIPTIONS.
No need - in my case - for a full respec, but they should be refunding the skills that were broken and/or incorrectly described in-game. |

Agreed. I wasted skill points on assault dropship only to find I am unable to outfit a proper assault dropship due to broken skills and I also feel its fair that folks get a reset of skill points.
Hmm lets see vehicle drivers , heavies, medics, laser users, MD users, shotgun users, assault dropship users, etc. all trusted CCP and were let down by broken skills or nerfed gameplay.
Folks deserve a skillpoint reallocation of all skillpoints to unallocated. |

We've all been talking for months about how this build was going to redefine pretty much everything about the game, and you can usually find quite a few broken part of any MMO patch, so throwing that much SP into a single asset on day 1 is pretty dumb, to be quite honest. |

Folks deserve a skillpoint reallocation of all skillpoints to unallocated. Skills that unlock and upgrade nerfed weapons will still be useful and valid and worth having when those weapons are brought back into line with where they should be. I don't find my Shotgun to have been nerfed badly enough to stop me using it.
Skills which are primarily used for their passive bonus, but whose passive bonus isn't actually being applied correctly, are a problem. Skills with a described passive bonus which isn't the bonus they're meant to be giving - and they aren't giving the correct bonus either - are even worse. We were told we were paying for one thing, and were given another. Actually, that's kind of like the problem with the Merc Pack issue.
If they CAN refund us just for the broken skills so we can re-train to the appropriate level instead of having wasted SP stuck in a skill we don't need, that would be great. Obviously, this also involves fixing the skills. If any of the vehicle skills have a description other than what they actually provide, then ALL vehicle skills need to be refunded, because that negates many people's entire reason for skilling into vehicles by hard-nerfing PG and possibly CPU capacity, preventing any chance of creating a remotely-competent fit.
If they can't just refund the affected skills so we can refit around them, then another full respec wouldn't go amiss, and there are probably a lot of people with currently over-nerfed SP sinks they'd rather not be stuck with. |

Alright, so, speaking as someone who tanked profile heavily last build, I have to say that the AR is a bad choice. Even more so now that it can't be buffed up to Chromosome levels.
The profile game helps you keep in cover relative to the person you're fighting, know which way people are facing before you engage, avoid groups, and surprise people. This is most effective combined with something that kills as quickly as possible and makes use of the element of surprise. The most obvious choice for this is the shotgun, but there are other weapons that benefit from remaining undetected, like buying the time to line up a decent scrambler pistol shot, or picking the right moment to pop a grenade.
With an AR you're just playing the time attritional game as all the other AR users, and once you're engaged in that gunfight the profile skills are mostly irrelevant. It's certainly not a useless set of skills to have, but until you combine them with something more suitable than the fit most people continue to run, the additional skills you bring to the fight will be outclassed by their focus on things that matter AFTER the shooting starts. |

Last feedback I saw about this issue was that the Engineering skill wasn't meant to give PG in the first place, posted as a reply to a support ticket someone submitted about the problem.
Got a link to where they said they're fixing this? Because if they really are, that's great.
But as mentioned, THEY STILL NEED TO REFUND THE OVER-SPENT SP.
And yes, right now I'm letting out a lot of negativity. But I've also been posting that there are positives. They HAVEN'T addressed many major concerns, and those concerns need to be resolved URGENTLY when the game is set for release in a week.
As for how I got all my likes, it's mostly because I've been here forever and been really active. I'm here because I like the potential DUST has, and I've been supportive of CCP's efforts, but right now, I'm feeling like they're breaking more than they're fixing (probably because they are). |

These skills were actually some of my favorites in the last build and I was looking forward to skilling into them in Uprising, however I haven't done so yet. I have a feeling that it may be hard to judge if they are 'broken' or not just because the base suits have been nerfed heavily in regards to their scan range.
I don't have the stats from the skill tree right now but as I recall the base scan range for most (maybe all) suits is 10m. If you skill up the passife scan range skill and then add a complex range extender (is that 50% bonus?), at best your getting what - to maybe 20m scan range? That's still worse than the base scan range of the scout suits from the last build.
And if you are skilling up profile analysis (is it an extra 2% for the passive skill?) to the max and then adding an extra complex profile analyzer (20%), that is was a 30% increase to the profile analysis? The base analysis for most suits is 55dbm, so a 30% decrease brings it to 38.5 dbm if you are not using a scout suit (31.5 if you are).... if most suits are running a profile damper, or outside your 15, 20 or whatever range you still won't see them.
It may be that the skills are okay and just not as effective as they were last build. I'd be suprised though if you got a refund.
Sorry for not having the real stats - just going on memory here from playing last night. |

If your radar is really as clear of red blips as it is with your un-upgraded alt, then the skills are definitely bugged, which stinks because stealth should be way more viable in Uprising with the reduction in everyone's scan radius. (I also feel like they pulled audio back quite a bit; you can't hear firefights from halfway across the map anymore.) |
