all gone LOL and i am not even finished with some important skills. seriously how is a new player even want to play this game anymore?... luckily i knew since the beginning a lot of things were going to happen like when i saw the almighty powerful tanks i was sure as hell they were going to get nerfed so i cut the bs and just went AR which they also got nerfed now i am sad. |

After plotting it out, I realize that proto is out of the question if I want strong base skills, advanced suits and weapons. I have around 9.7 mil SP. Honestly, I look forward to the grind. Working for my proto suit last build was fun and I can't wait to do it again.
The point being, I think CCP wants to extend the time needed to advance your build. Personally, I like that. Some may not though, especially if they don't plan it out before they re-spec, thinking they will be equal to their last build. |

This game will not last at it's current rate. Only EVE fanboys will remain at the end of this year I would bet. There simply will not be enough player base and profits to keep the game running... so CCP will have to end up shutting it down...

Oh noes, we can't all be in proto suits before the game launches.

I think CCP's reasoning is, if it takes longer for you to obtain it, then it will mean more when you finally reach it.
The other route is like COD, as with a few days grind and you have the best of everything. Sure you get rewarded quicker, but once you have everything, interest in the game quickly dwindles.

The Idea was to have one character one PSN account one passive training with boosters to maybe train into multiple roles or whatever your hearts desire in time. That idea currently would take 6months+
People with 10m SP now have been playing for a fair amount of time, and then sure they have some more to go.
But the new player that comes in is screwed, and that here in is the main problem. For we need to encourage a constant new player base for this game not to stagnate.
Before the build alot of those 10m players where maxed out in their role relevent skills, and putting points into fun stuff and thinking about vehicles etc.
This still applies now to this build except for massive redundancy in basic and racial proto suits, and even sidearm choices and relevency of it.
basically instead of setting a resonable launch date which everyone expected they are gonna launch a broken game that no one is satisfied with and people with foresight are panicking. Even a graphical update, then a database update.. and take this first time attempt of a single shard MMO world in strides, you already have an active Aurum store.
And if we don't all start really bitching about the **** then we are gonna get a pile of **** that we all paid for.

You are doing it wrong, I have only 4.2 million SP and I love where I am at now. You don't have to get something to 5 before you move onto a new skill. Also "basic" does not mean "******." Everyone upset they can't get a prototype specialized suit, but the basic prototype is nearly the same thing.
With my 4.2 million I got the Gallente Medium Prototype, enhanced armor plates, complex armor repairers, armor upgrades to 5 (5% armor increase per level), enhanced light weapon modifier, and the trusty Gek. Also a bit invesment into CPU increase along with some left over for an equipment piece once I decide. Put it together I got
120 shields
447 armor
12.5 armor repair
1.1 damage mod
Not bad for a medium suit on Day 1. I'm not exactly sure what everyone else is doing but I don't get where all the complaints are coming from. Beta phase is over (well technically on 5.14 but that's more arbitrary, CCP was just like "5/14 let's do it!!!"), the stuff was easy to get because you were testing.
And I have friends who started a week ago and two weeks ago, they have some pretty good suits going as well. You don't need to go through this 10 million list of "core skills" before you get what you want. Yes you need those core skills eventually, but there is a more efficient order in accruing them. |

New people play this game for 4 months, cry about not having enough SP.
People like me play this game for a year, through several wipes. and, whilst some of us may complain, I see it as an improvement.
my 10m SP didn't get me half as far as I was last build. This is a good thing. Considering it only took me 4 months to get 10m SP. I reckon by 15m I should be sittin' pretty. but until then, grindgrindgrind! At least I have enough ISK to not worry about fits for a while :D |
