Am I ******** or does it now take well over a million SP to get into any suit? They seem to have made it much more difficult to multi-class. I was in Tech 2 Logi suits and now I can't even get into Tech 1, cause I have to MAX a skill to be able to even learn a class specific skill?
Someone please clarify this. |

I can't even get into a logi suit, I'm still 700k away, which is well over 50 battles. I don't understand why the gap is so large to get into a role specific suit. |

Legit wanna hear about why they made it so hard to get into role specific suits. I'd already played a bit, at some 1.5m (Which was a good steady gain for me) and I can't imagine how long it would take for a brand new player to get into a suit.
Level 5 Faction Dropsuit just to roll a specific role? I'm not sure this computes, for you guys who've been playing since Jan and have 9-10m, this obviously isn't for you. I'm just baffled that it takes SO much to get even basic, cheap ass level 1 role suits. I see these basic suits, which are basically the same and all have ONE slot each. Are we supposed to be ok with that? It'll take a small eternity to get into a suit from square one and i'm beyond lost that no one else is complaining about this. |

Someone please clarify this. Why are you complaining? It's called balance. CCP giveth, and they taketh away.

I don't see how making ROLES hard to obtain helps balance anything. I'm a decent player, I know I am, but I struggle sometimes because I can't gain WP or enjoy the game because I got bumped down to crap status. I understand your point and all, I realize it needs balance but there are dudes running around in proto suits and I can't even get into a regular role suit with 1.5m sp. |

Remember this is an MMO, not an FPS; you don't get end-game gear in a month.
P.S. But yes, it maybe does make the SP gap more of an issue. |

Right now it looks like the role specific suits are the t2 of DUST. You need to max the basic before you can use the advanced, specialized variant. The problem is that in EVE there is more than one t1 selection available, and even those were somewhat specialized.
It does seem pretty steep right now and I'm interested in CCP plans on introducing more "frame" variants within the classes (light/medium/heavy) at some point. |

Any FPS worth it's salt (I hate to use the ref, I know it's hated here but BF3) will allow you to operate different play styles from the jump. Right now all I got are basic/militia suits and the difference between them is negligible. I mean, they all have just 1 slot for everything and the only difference really is movement speed.
Any of them, pick any one and you can only use one Infantry equipment slot. I hope CCP does something to make roles viable for nubs, cause right now it's "Go out in **** armor and stay behind cover and hope you catch someone at low enough health or in the right position to chip them away, otherwise die horribly" |

yup... it use to take a few levels of basic dropsuit command and 87k sp to sit in a racial suit. Now it takes what was previously required to field a proto suit and another level of racial suit. *gets back into his dragonfly dropsuit for a month*
edit: shelfing my Sever and Raven suits for a long time. |

i figured this out... a bit late, but i did. here goes...
BASIC suits are NO DIFFERENT than the specialized suits. the only difference is that "specialized" suits cost less (a bit more than half of the basic version) and you get the 5% bonuses.
i ran to level 5 gelante medium frame (got the proto). then i went and got the advanced (level 3) assault suit. dumb on my part. 685K sp spent for a suit that costs almost half the "basic" version for 5% bonus shield regen and 5% something else. all the while i got a proto suit (1.8M sp) i could use.
TBH the role specific suits are a bit of a waste. the basics will do just fine. the lower price and 5% bonuses are a real good option, but i wouldn't have spec'd that far that fast if i would have realized this first. i could have put that 685K sp to better use . oh well. you live and you learn. |

You need almost 2mil SP to get into a Logi suit. And to make it even worse Basic suits have the exact same stats as Assault suits. So, Assault players just have to spec into Assault suits if they want to get the bonus and LogiBros got totally screwed.
I was ranting about that yesterday, but it seems noone cares at all. |

Apart from the Caldari suit because of the Shield passive, base Logibro suits are actually worse then their Assault counterparts stat wise. |

role specific gear is the equivalent of tech 2 stuff in eve, so it's as it should be, it takes months to fly and fit a t2 logistic ship in eve for example. |

Get the basic suits? They are the same than the others except they dont get the skill boost from the e.g assault skill
Plus the SP to get them is less than before and before patch there was no suit buff skill like there is now? |

I would never be sarcastic about something this heinous.
That's a lie, but i'm still being serious. Not having both is just...wrong. Any suit with an equipment slot can carry a repper OR a nanite Injector. I've always seen Logistics as the support guys, the medics. The equipment slots and stats to carry the stuff is what made it so darn awesome to me. To not have something so basic as a nanite injector and a repper... |

Yep. I got into a 2nd tier Amarr logi suit much faster than it took for me to get into a Guardian. |
