I understand the AR nerf in this build (It's been a long time coming) but it seems that specifically Burst ARs (And probably Tactical ARs - which already had too much recoil to be useful in the first place) have been gimped to hell as a byproduct of this whole fiasco...
I have tried using the Burst AR I cannot even hit a target who's body mass nearly fills up a zoomed scope at a close-medium range!
I could *BARELY* reach a target in the Bravo crows nest from railing/stairs area at the Charlie - sorry I forget which map this is...
I had to stand at the unprotected area at the furthest edge of the stairs just to hit someone who is at the closest edge of the crows nest above Bravo.
Even with rounds connecting, the new THREE ROUND burst mode does not seem to depart enough damage before your target flees/moves to cover. The weapon should fire at least FIVE ROUND bursts, in my personal opinion, as opposed to the 7-8 round burst it did before.
Tactical and Burst AR's should (in actual firearm ballistic theory, wink-wink) hold more accuracy and reach than say a full-auto rifle...

I know CCP hears enough of this on the forums and I'm sorry to gripe, but it seems a bit silly that you didn't consider the effect that this AR balancing would do to the DIFFERENT TYPES of AR's - respectively the Full-Auto, Burst, and Tactical. (lol, you guys should have had plenty of time and feedback from the community between this and the last build, no?)
It was a simple balancing issue, to begin with -_-
ARs did not need a range nerf to begin with... Rather, they needed an ACCURACY nerf... and it was just the full-auto ARs (Since that was clearly the one being used the most - ppl tend to use the most exploitable, easy-to-use weapon, as most betas has shown us... no offense, assault classes).
Regardless, Burst (and Tac) ARs are now useless while full-auto AR's have been balanced. There is no Yin to the Yang, as far as ARs are concerned... |

Actually, OP. I think CCP nailed the ARs just right this time.
Every weapon type has been range adjusted. The AR weapon class has been properly balanced. If you want range go with a Tac. If you want dps precision, go with a Burst. If you want full on DPS, go with a full-auto.
The Tac's recoil has been properly mitigated. It has good damage, and you can shoot fast, BUT if someone tries to shoot too fast (use a modded controller/mouse) the recoil will be too much. I've been ripping ass with a GLU-5 all day. The Tac is SOOOOO much better than it was before.
The Tactical AR has been fixed. The Burst AR is VERY precise. The full-auto AR is still the king of lower-mid range combat.
Have you USED the Tac? I've maxed out ARs, Shields, and Armor. I'm saving my remaining SP to max out Flaylock Pistols, the Caldari Scout suit, scrambler rifles, my CPU/PG skills, sniper rifles, and the remainder on some minor AV.
Otherwise, OP..... idk what to tell you... The Chromosome ARs are gone, and they will never come back. THANK GOD. Good riddance. But skill INTO the Burst and Tac ARs. Max out the damage. Put SP into the recoil mitigation, etc. I did all this, the AR could not be ANYMORE perfect. |

The accuracy and all that is fine, but the range feels way to short. I haven't tried the Tac. AR.
I think the burst should be higher. |
