I'm sorry but you aren't that important. A little power has gone to your head. If this is the way that ccp wants to move forward as their way of communication you sir would not be my choice for a spokesperson and certainly don't speak for me. If the power had gone to his head do you really think he'd be asking for feedback at all? |

If the power had gone to his head do you really think he'd be asking for feedback at all? Yes - because then he can demonstrate his power of do nothing. Instead of CPM going: We get it - it's wrong, here's our concerns, here's yours, where's the middle ground? We get a CPM who gives free posting lessons instead. The lessons seem needed. Honestly he only asked people to be constructive and have quantified arguments. If people can't manage that not only do they not deserve to be heard but we'd likely be better off as a whole ignoring them. So to his power of doing nothing, yes, it is something he can and should use on unqualified and illogical arguments and baseless whining (or even legitimate whining which lacks reasoning regarding what is actually stated).
How can the CPM say "we get it" itfpeople are just going to be offended when someone says "we listen to goodposting?" Especially when he asked for people to help him create points to take to CCP? |

Asking for feedback is fine insulting the player base with his higher than though lessons is just bad Taste. Not an alt, but eh, another CCP game, another alt accusation.
Like was said before, the lessons seem needed and weren't even all coming from him, so he's not the only one who sees it. |

SoTa PoP wrote:Welcome to the forums - have you been here long? Apparently CPM can't handle it so give up the spot to someone who can. Doesn't take a troll to see bad posts from good ones and how to ignore it. Free lessons show nothing but a ego.
But - please - let them continue show casing how amazing they are at PR. They've all done wonderful so far. So one moment he's being too harsh and condescending and the next he can't handle it because he knows how to look past trash posts? Going to have to ask that you make up your mind there. |

What part of responding with lessons is him looking past anything? Your reading comprehension needs more SP. Claiming to look past something by replying to it is what I want clarification on. Actually, you have a point here.
So instead of simply ignoring them he gave responses which indicated why those posts were sorely lacking. He did better than simply looking past them and provided criteria that most people who aren't trying to get their feelings hurt can agree would promote effective communication.
You are right, I was incorrect in my earlier statement. |

SoTa PoP wrote:I see where you're going there, but can I ask why he continued to give lessons? One lesson I can understand as him trying to just show people this isn't how it should be expressed - but 4? Ops, sorry, 3. To be honest, and not trying to offend here, it seems like a combination of people being slightly oversensitive combined with forum warrioring on the op's part. I've seen Hans post historically. He's clearly not the type to earn extra points on tact. But I haven't seen anything here to warrant accusations of power tripping.
Edit: Note I'm talking about this thread specifically.
SoTa PoP wrote:The real problem lies in the fact that in the past the forums have been the only source to get things changed. And even more unfortunate ccp listened in part to those who whined the most or the loudest. Setting the precedent that is in use on the forums now. If the new representatives want to have an affect they need to be able to show the community that they have any influence at all. If ccp can't get the message that the player base is upset from these forums and give us a response then what is a strongly worded email from a com really going to do? Right you are about the way things have been, and equally right you are about why that is far from optimal. There is a need for actual dialogue which cannot be reasonably done with the entire playerbase. So while one strongly worded email won't do too much more than a forum post, the continued conversations with the devs and decision makers over time will have a significantly greater effect. |
