When I bought my 20k AUR Raven BPO, I thought we would get a full AUR refund for the release.
Since this is 'the last update' until the release, views on this look grim...
So what, am I stuck with this 20k AUR dropsuit which I don't need or want? Or am I going to get a fair opportunity to spend my AUR on something more valuable to me??? |

Soon you will get the choice to choose a full refund to get all your Aur back... Which will make you start from the bottom... Meaning your skills will be wiped.... So when that date comes choose wisely....

What? So we have to reset our whole account to get back virtual currency which was promised to be reimbursed? That is stupid, I hope to God that there's a free market... |

I highly doubt it. Eve Online does allow players to pay ISK for aurum tokens, but I doubt they would be applied to DUST. It will depend heavily on the economy.
Edit.
Keep in mind that aurum tokens in Eve are trade between players so market forces will effect the price. |

My problem is that I thought we would get a full refund for the release, considering it was beta.
And now since I want to specialise in Amarr dropsuits, the Caldari BPO is near useless to me. I want a full AUR refund so I can spend it on any other BPOs which may come out in the future or other stuff... |

However, the refund only applies to Merc packs and Aurum packs purchased BEFORE January 22nd. So if you bought them after that, you won't get a refund. If you're lucky, CCP will also include some sort of way of knowing how much you can expect back or if you can expect anything at all. |

You're kidding right? I bought my Sever logi suit when all it needed to use was logi suits level 1. Now it needs medium level 5 and logi level 1, making it a useless asset.
The whole point of these BPO suits was to be low grade gear with low requirements and to save a small amount of ISK. That suit is no longer what I paid for.
I don't care about AUR refunds, I want to swap my **** BPO for something more useful. |

I think the information in that link has changed from what it first said. Now it says that particular BPO's will not be reimbursed, whereas previously I believe it did not say that. As you can see from this post, which was made while the servers were down for patch, this represents a change in what was previously stated.
The merc pack/aurum pack before Jan 22nd is another, unrelated issue/offer. |

You're correct, but the Merc pack only has the Dragonfly BPO, 40K AUR, a 30 day booster, the Toxin and 1 or two other things. AUR Packs are if you paid for straight AUR. Militia BPOs were brought up concerning the refunds that we got yesterday with Uprising, because for whatever reason, players saw fit to buy them in droves and now they are more AUR than they were when Open Beta first started. It was a huge deal at the time. A lot of people were ticked off about the Militia BPOS going up in price.

I was upset about this at first as well, until I was informed of something I didn't know by some corp mates. Apparently one weekend during closed beta, the Valor, Sever, and Raven were all given away as a part of a Merc Pack. So because of this, it fits the stipulation set on the dev blog that we would not get refunded items that were part of the Merc Pack. I think it's crap since I bought my Sever wayyyy after this but oh well. I decided to skill into Minmatar Logis instead of Caldari and am enjoying the extra speed. Also the proto Minmatar Medium Frame is nice with the 5 high slots and high speed. If we get refunded on it, I will still rejoice, but I don't see it happening. |

I also agree that something aught to be done.. It is wasted real life money otherwise..
We bought them on the pretense that we would always be able to use them, now that's null and void. I personally don't want to spec into minmitar gear now.. which means i can't use it, so real life cash is just sat there for nothing.
Now i'm not going to die over it if nothing is done about it.. it's just a tad annoying really.. Would be nice if something were implemented to make it feasible to use it without having to spec racially into the skills considering the skill cost.
A refund would be nice.. but then i'd be wanting a bpo of the similar style but in the race i pick... that's not available so i'd likely just end up spending it on boosters.
Quote: Zombie Supreme: (From another post)
OK first you tell us we will be getting back the Aur we spent on BPO's then you change your mind? Militia BPO OK whatever they can still be used with spending skill points. Dropsuits however are a different story.
I spent full price (About $10 in AUR) for 1 Logi Sever Suit about 2 months ago, because the suit was good forever, and cheap to spec into. Now I have a useless $10 BPO sitting in my inventory unless I want to spend 1.9mil SP specing into a racial suit that I don't want or like. NTM, I have always been a tanker first and I don't have 1.9mil extra SP lying around.
I understand some people bought alot of these suits when they were 30 aur, I wish I was playing and bought it when it was that cheap BC then I wouldn't care.
There are many easy fixes for this that can keep everyone happy and prevent the people who took advantage and bought alot of them for 30 Aur and are now looking to rake in the AUR. You can do any 1 of the following.
1. You can refund only 1 suit per person, because no one needs to have bought more than 1 suit per merc. 2. You can check your logs which you obviously keep and refund the original purchase price. 3. You can make the Sever suit like the dragonfly suit and require no skills to use.
Anyone of these solutions should be relatively simple, and fair. Something needs to be done about this, because I and 98% of people that own that suit feel ripped off.
But i think suggestion 3 has merit to it.. It would mean we could hop straight into it.. i even wouldn't mind so much if the stats were nerfed on it if it.. just something cheap to use so that we can support our guys even in a cheap fit..
Anyway... +1

Yeah i agree with you here that it was justified.. but there's alternatives.. such as what i quoted from Zombie Supreme just above from another post.. think it would be a viable solution making the the suit have no requirements just like the dragonfly suit... i wouldn't even be annoyed if they reduced the stats accordingly either.. would just like to use what i paid real life money for really.. If they dont make any changes and we're stuck the way it is.. oh well.. how often do we all fritter money away in real life anyway... Just would be nice if something could be done about it, would be a nice curtesy considering it's useablity has completely changed, and noone wants to be forced down a racial path just because of a bpo they have...
So yeah.. i'm not being forced down the minmitar path and have written it off.. but would support any action for it to be changed so it's useable by all again. Just kinda sucks to buy something then not be able to use it :) |

Actually no, you are wrong here. If you read the dev blog it states that they weren't refunding MILITIA BPOs because people bought so many in hopes of getting a massive payday someday. So they said they weren't refunding for those. They also said they weren't refunding for the Merc Pack items or any in-game even items. Since the three MAG suits (Valor, Raven, and Sever) were given out as part of the Merc Pack at one point in time, they will not refund for them. And it's because they said they weren't refunding for Merc Pack items.
Now what they should have done was told everyone in the blog specifically that these items weren't going to be refunded. They should have known there would be some uproar about this. That's where they dropped the ball. |

And many people that bought the Sever, etc. suits wouldn't even know about the Merc pack, as it occurred last year. It's presupposes that the players have knowledge of events and offers and the "history of items" that occurred before they began playing. |
