20 meters seems to be the max, and at that range you're lucky to get an assist
anyone else notice the OTHER stealth nerf to the HMG? runs out of ammo AND overheats far more quickly |

My Max kill range 49 one time. Every other match my Max is about 29 m

I think CHICAGOCUBS4EVER made a great point when he mentioned that no one ever complained about HMGs to begin with, yet they got nerfed anyway. I have never played as a heavy (always assault), and I personally never had a problem with them. I figured out their weakness: heavies really hate grenades, range, and angles they can't turn fast enough to see.
As a non heavy user, I support you heavies. There was no reason to change anything.
Other people have stated theories that perhaps the HMGs were nerfed simply to balance with the other nerfs, but this has yet to be determined. It still doesn't explain the poor range. |

Crouching is slower.
Heavy HMG is now a support role. Unless you have 10 or 12 million sp to spunk into it.

That's what a heavy + HMG is supposed to be... I know you don't want to hear that, but that is your role as an HMG user. Leave the slaying to the assaults, which is what our role is (although from what I read, AR range is garbage too). |

Yup I did notice I am reloading a lot more/ running out of ammo, I have not overheated yet but it does seem like it overheats faster maybe because we are firing more bullets. Other stealth nerfs the gun just feels off now from my experience, it does not feel as sturdy as it did pre-patch. Also really sucks when there is zero cover in an area and you can't hit anyone at range, you just get blasted. |

uh...no, read the assault suit and rifles description again, you're the jack of all trades guy able to do anything on the fly.
the heavy is supposed to be the meat grinder that chews threw anyone in their path.
but we can't charge objectives effectivly, hack effectivly, adatp to a changing battle quickly
we kill, assault can do pretty much anything |

Anti-Infantry or, if you prefer, Anti-Personnel weapons are designed specifically to attack. There is no supportive role, though one could be used as such in emergencies. Anti-Infantry is not a supportive role, it is the lead role. Thus making the Heavy, the lead role.

As stated previously, today I was consistently out ranged by shotgunners, which is completely ridiculous. I can't believe how wholly ineffective the HMGs have become. I could be okay with the damage nerf, but the range and (what appears to be) scatter of the HMGs rounds is atrocious.
The nerf that has been done to the HMGs was completely unwarranted. They were damn near perfect in the last build, so what was the reasoning behind this? |

you need to check again. i was on an awesome losing streak and when this happened and i looked at my suits thinking i was gonna have to spend a fortune to buy more, it turned out its like i never even played in the match. i didnt lose any loadouts.
so either your getting a weird bug, or your not paying attention to your suits.

that they were, had just the right range and damage to be a serious threat to a single player, but a group could still easily fell a heavy. now? i just try to get as many assists as possible |

I think you misunderstood my posting, Polish. All I said was that we are the lead role. We are the ones to step in first and take the beating and make sure our weapon can level those before us in a hail of bullets. Such as you stated. Never did I say I thought one class was superior or more important than another. Did I? If I was to give that title to anyone I would give it to the Logistics.
I will agree with you though on the damage reduction, I can live with that, it can be remedied by utilizing Complex Damage Modifiers and Passive Skills. The range, such as you stated, is unwarranted and ridiculous. If we can't defend ourselves with a weapon meant to tear asunder anything that stands in our path, while we are being easily dropped by said shotgunner 30 meters out, then we might as well just walk around with a slingshot and a pouch of rocks. |

currently finding i do FAR better with the FG sadly due to it still having good range and damage, heavy suit is excellent, FG is good, but i am personally abandoning the HMG untill it gets SOMETHING done to make it a usefull weapon again |
