Now start screaming about how it's unfair that we got nerfed or something. Because we all know you want to.
You've been informed wrong. |

The first chapter of the Heavy Zealot say this:
No matter how hard the "Nerfhammer" hit, i will stick to heavy suit
No matter how hard the "Nerfhammer" hit my weapon, i will proudly hold it against ARSuit

One of the two. That's exactly why my friends stopped playing the game after a week.
"My bullets don't kill people. This is bull****."
And just for clarification, my friends are very good at FPS games (2.7 KDR in BF3) and have no problem achieving a tactical advantage over an opponent. When that tactical advantage leads to an opponent absorbing a magazine of bullets, turning around, and killing you with a short burst, you can imagine how they felt about that.
Grind some SP, you say? Yeah, they could spend their free time not enjoying themselves during the game in hopes that one day they'll have gear and skills that make them competitive....
OR... they can just play Battlefield 3 where the all the guns have basically the same lethality and they can enjoy themselves immediately. The bottom line is, guns need to kill people. So what if you die more? Watch your back more. |

My Goodness did they make a mess of the heavy, just got taken out by a shotgun user who was standing still eating my rounds at 5 meters.
No a complaint on shotguns so don't get me wrong, but the HMG really does need another looking at by ccp.
What I don't understand so if any one could clear this up for me it would be great, what is the reasoning behind making a Slow but heavily armored Heavy machine gun wielding character who's range is so short.
When I played as a heavy today it just felt like if the person was not standing directly in front of me, as in less the 2 meters then that person was immune to you HMG |

As is 1-10 m seems to be optimal range, 10-15 takes allot to kill, beyond that you're spitting at them. |

I think 10 is even pushing it, I mean this guy was standing still at 5 meters, just eating bullets, and managed to drop me in 3 shots from the shotgun.
Everything else is fine but the range does seem to be questionable, But I guess we'll get alot more info on this over the coming weeks, see how it works out.
Am sticking with it though, nerfed as it is, I just like being a heavy |

As a heavy, I'm actually kind of relieved the damage nerf wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I mean at 15.4 damage per round we're looking at around 513 dps, as opposed to the 566 dps we used to get with the 17 damage per round. I don't think the base damage difference is enough to exactly break the class or anything. It's still way more than the 412 dps assaults get with their 33 damage per round (And we have about 2x the health).
My main concern though is the HMG's range cut. From what I understand, our max range went from 55+ M to around 15 M. I've yet to personally see if this is true (I'm only judging by what people are saying on here), but if this is true this is a huge nerf. I was expecting the global range nerf (due to the lack of SS) to actually benefit HMGs or at least allow them to break even, but a more than 70% cut in range is pretty drastic. This means certain maps are going to be absolute hell for anyone specializing in this weapon (Unless the assault variant hopefully significantly increases range). |
