Armor gives you more raw HP and it helps against burst damage. The shields have lower total HP because they recharge on their own. You get the speed penalty but generally more total HP. Shields are good for extended engagements, armor for lasting in shorter fights. Shields work differently in dust than eve. In eve they recharge constantly so you can actually have a passive tank that you can't get through unless you do more damage than your shields recharge. In Dust you have to be out of battle for a few seconds before it kicks in, which is a tad disappointing because passive tanking is very fun. |

Only at complex level. Else shields are superior always. |

Well...there IS a tool according to the database dump that repairs 105 HP/s which will blow any shield recharge rate out of the water...And with 2-3 logis on him a well armor tanked heavy will probably be able to take a full AR clip to the body with those reps on him. |

You have to stack reps otherwise you rep so slowly that it's nearly useless. If you stack plates to equal the HP of shields, you end up slow as hell and practically unable to rep. |

Unless you have a logi handy and one type of basic nanohive has an armour rep. |

I checked. Its vehicle repair rate, no such thing for dropsuits. |

So I have to bring an extra player and a specific equipment to reach the same viability as shields? k |

Core Focused repair tool? I'm not updated yet and still at work...Also, the table says compact nanohive rep 50Hp/s... want to test that... |

Dont have to but a armour tanker can reach a higher HP than shields, highest shield extender is 66 isn't it armour is 115 and thats not factoring the bonus from armour plates or shield extender skills so you can get quite allot of hp for example the first gal medium frame I have 405 armour using only basic plates and I have PG/CPU enough for higher level plates does anyone knoe what the cal basic medium first level suit can get with 3 basic shield extenders? |
