We write teh story. The story depends on what WE do. If you loose a PC battle and some other guys get that district that might be the start of an era where they will roll through all regions and tear anybody that comes near apart !!
It's not like wow where completing the same mission 800 billion times doesn't really matter at all.
If you win a Faction warfare match well faction warfare in eve is gonna change (slightly i think but not much )

This forums is the single-player storyline mode. Unfortunately CCP haven't gotten to the point where they have real players posting in the forums yet. It's really just a bunch of CCP devs pretending to be players.

Employees at CCP have become so good at taking on multiple personas with their 10-year-old Eve Online that when they opened game servers up to connections from the general public in 2011, one of the 10 non-CCP players (an unbroken record high to this day) described the experience as: "...Insane. I never thought I'd have the experience of entering a full universe so rich with player characters. It's like I'm actually playing a game that serves as a convenient and flashy skin over my typical Excel sheets."



CCP counted this a huge success, but were stymied by the niche nature of Eve Online. Just what kind of masochist would want to come play a really quite deep game about spaceships, especially when most of the CCP-orchestrated "player base" were counted as jerks at best and drains on society at worst? They turned to the most obvious solution of the problem: the first-person-shooter genre.


Unfortunately CCP employees aren't nearly as experienced at pretending to be upwards of 20 sci-fi FPS nerds simultaneously as they are at being the same number of spaceship nerds. This fact, compounded with the fact that only one employee is assigned to the task of emulating a whole player base's worth of player drama, makes the forums the only single-player experience in all of New Eden.

But it's stil buggy.
