It is wrong to put these tanks in the game and people with no SP in vehicle command or HAV skills can just jump into it. At least you could have made them spend the sp on something like the rest of us who grind out for it. BS |

They're not that bad, I popped one with a militia forge gun. Almost as bad as militia tanks. |

I was concerned about this when I first saw them on the market, however the first match after that, I was able to destroy three of them in one match, because they were terribly fitted.
Basically: these tanks might not need skill points, but they still need skill. |

I haven't bought a tank in months... i just think its bs to just let people get in the tanks who dont have sp for vehicle command.. can just solely put sp into the turrets |

Worse case scenario, you get people who are specialized into tanking and use the Aurum variant just to save money, double edged sword I think. |

only skill they need is the fitting and turret... not the skills for actually sitting in the tank |

I don't think it's a big deal because anyone who has actually skilled into tanks is going to have the edge in a straight up fight. You should have better modules + the damage bonuses from your turret skills. |

once again... you can have those same bonuses and the extra sp that you didnt have to waste to sit in the tank or be able to call it in |

with that sp that you didnt have to spend in VC and HAV all you gotta do is dump it into the turret.. most of the players will have almost all the skills from playin infantry for the fittings |

Unless they have more money than sense, they're not going to have enough experience to pilot that HAV correctly just like protoscrubs don't know how to use that suit correctly. Unlike EVE, there is only one way to obtain AURUM in DUST. In order to keep that extra bit of SP they dumped into tank specific modules useful, they will have to pay real money. If they stop purchasing AURUM, then they will be stuck with useless skills until they dump SP into tanks, which will put them and you on the same level.
I know it gives them a temporary advantage, but I don't think it's a game breaking advantage.

It's what, 350k for Vehicle Command and 60k for the HAV skill? So a week and a half or so you'd save with them plus the million ISK. Sure it's an advantage but not that extreme really. |

Player Skill > SP Skill a proto rail gun is a proto rail gun regardless the player skill By that logic someone with a Duvolle will always beat someone using a GEK. Player skill is still a factor no matter what. |

Armor Pack tanks = TINY step above Militia tanks.
AUR Gunnlogi and Madrugar - TINY step above standard Gunnlogi and Madrugar.
Slight CPU/PG advantage (I can't remember which, but it's a tiny advantage). That's it. The lack of skill requirements doesn't make a huge difference. The advantage for fitting needs to be removed, but the devs have mentioned they're fixing any pay-to-win items (even just ones with better fitting stats) to be in line with the ISK versions. |
