Type 2,B,vk1 Assault suits have basically the same shield recharge delay as the Scout suit, but more than DOUBLE the shield capacity, and all you need is one good recharger, to match the actual shield recharge rate. That same shield capacity and recharge rate, allows it to engage Heavies in 1v1 situations on the regular, with impunity.
I know this, because I play Assault now. Less headaches. Easy mode. No need to use your brain, specialize and adapt. Just look at something and it dies. Oh yeah, and strafe a little bit when fighting other ARs.
Having a kb/m helps too. With how things are, it's a noob weapon on a noob suit, that convinces noobs that they're hot $hit. Of course, it doesn't work well against a well coordinated squad... but it really is an irritating "jack-of-all-trades" class. CORRECTION: "master of all trades".
I couldentve said it better. Master of all trades, not a jack. With its strafe and absurd amount of slots it tanks more than a heavy if you build both to have a durable build. Kills anything from afar or point blank with only a couple bullets, you really get to choose how you kill everyone. Doesent matter your choice youl win anyways. You generally dont have to worry about anything whatsoever because this is, ligit, the PERFECT class. No fualts, no disadvantages, no negatives or drawbacks. (underlines perfect) If its base stats are not quiet as good as you think it should be (than you have high expectations) than pick one of the assults and use its 5 high slots or 5 low slots and your good. No need for scout or heavy. Logistics is viable because its an assult clone with more equipment and less base stats in well, everthing. But thats expected because assult is perfect |

The problem is people prefer general purpose over specialized, even if its slightly weaker in every way. |

An AR can do what a HMG does but at any range and the assult can be molded into anything you like, why use a a scout for less signature and more speed when you can run the right assult suit with the ALLLL the slots and use 2 mods to have all the advantages of the scout and still be a very durable warrior? And heavy as well, put on a caldari or galante assult suit and stack plates and sheild mods your jus asdurable but faster with the AR of your choosing. Its getting old and rediculas I know I've been here this whole time..I used tanks till they got nerfed I still try them but its boring having to stay back..and there shouldn't be a gun that can compete with ar unless you are close or a laser its an all purpose weapon |

2 Years? Ya mean 1? And it's true, this nerf hammer does need to fall on the assault because this is ridiculous, while I feel like the heavy suit/HMG should be buffed in like...Every way, and the scout should be made faster because this is really out of hand.

I'm still trying to figure out what the 'special role' for a scout is. What can a scout do effectively that no other class can match or exceed? Especially with the new Minmatar assault suits that can be made to go faster and tank harder. I will wait to reserve judgement until I play a week in the new build, but at the moment - I am not overly hopeful.

In the current build a heavy can walk around in the open with a HMG and not worry. I think we should think about what the suits and weapons are geared toward and ask ourselves if they are staying true.
HMG - Medium range, high damage? It should be close range, high damage FG - Anti-everything sniper? Should be AV AR -Long range, high damage? Should be medium range, medium damage.
I think that these new stats will help with true specialization we will enjoy it more once we get over not have the candy and rainbows build. I hope things get hardcore, the game has been on easy mode. |

The stats you posted there are correct, the AR should be mid, mid but its not because the AR is only half the promblem. The assult suit can give you 5 high slots to play damage mods in any way you want and the AR is already balls out God Mode |

I have seen you mow down entire squads in the open before. You have done it to me, the ranges of the HMG was too much. I didn't complain because we were testing but they were excessive and we are going gold so it had to change. |

Proto vk.0 with three complex armor plates and three complex shield extenders comes out to about 900 health with level 4 in both shield control and mechanics. You statistically cant fit a fourth armor plate and still be able to run a weapon. So that's about as heavy as you can make an assault suit. The vk. 1 is similar accept most its health is in shields. and it gets a little more hp...... (about 50 if im not mistaken).
The type 1 heavy suit with the same skills, one enhanced armor plate and two complex shield extenders nets about 1100 hp......

If everyone keeps complaining every time they have trouble with another class this game is not going anywhere. I run an assault class and it is not as OP as you are suggesting. Could be because I don't use proto gear, but then that's another topic to discuss. In my experience it would be insane to go against even STD HMGs alone in close range, even in medium range you have to be careful. LRs can still overpower you at long ranges.
The only reason why other class users are so mad at assault is because it is more mobile and allows for more kills, hence it is much more popular than the other classes. You can't expect to go all over the map in a heavy or sniper in search for kills, these classes are for defending a position. Assault on the other side is for offensive and you can't expect an offensive class to be unable to defend itself at medium or long ranges. |

I expect the classes to be balenced and nothing less. assult is not balenced and have never been. I also expect someone to at least have a corp and have fully explored ones class (i.e. have proto gear) to put in their 2 cents. otherwise its skewed to a noob. not saying your bad or anything but still
What do you expect from balanced classes, do you want them to have the same chances against each other in any situation? Because if that were the case, there would be no point in having classes at all.
As it is now, other classes seem to have no trouble killing me as an assault in situations they are superior in. I don't know how things will work in the next build, that remains to be seen. Perhaps the proto heavies could be improved a bit because they don't seem to be able to keep the pace with proto assaults, but the rest seem balanced to me.
