The majority of the Tanks I destroy just wade in the middle of a road or field till they get destroyed. Then they act surprised that they could actually be destroyed. Why is that more Tankers don't use cover.
Most HAV's that use cover are extremely hard to destroy. Though, I rarely see this tactic being used. |

The tank makes them feel MANLY.

You make a very good point. One that tankers should listen to if they don't want to be QQing into my cup. |

using cover means you aren't being helpful
most objectives and routes to objectives have no cover
using cover does not cover you from all sides sure you can use cover with your tank but you are still going to be open from all other sides
and if you are using cover its because your modules are down your better off just continuing off to redline in most cases
not to mention it makes you a prime target for an orbital strike
if i see a tank using cover its usually because the damn thing is in a weakened state and can be easily destroyed |

Because swarms and grenades go around cover Because most cover is smaller than the HAV Because "in cover" means "on the other side of the map behind mountains, where it has to remain for 90 seconds while it repairs", so of course you don't fracking see it.
So, in short, a combination of selection bias and the fact that cover as infantry know it is often not helpful for HAVs. Hell, most of the time being in cover just means there's someone on the other side with a nanohive and AV grenades.
The best part is when people use this one on dropship pilots. "Why don't they use cover more often?" "Yeah, man, I bet there's a cloud up here that'll stop that forge gun round." |

These tankers you are describing are the forum warriors that fight so hard to keep anything from changing the tanks.

Hehe.
The OP managed to troll the HAV apologists by pointing out a simple truth.

Which means it's big? Buildings, walls, hills, and towers are bigger.
You either shoot over them or use their corners for cover and back up when it gets to hot.
Most tanks don't even do this.
