This kind of **** isn't going to fly CCP, as a long time consumer I'm not going to just sit here and let you pressure and bully players so you don't have to honor the original terms of purchase.
Unlike our spineless CPM that we didn't even vote on, I'm going to take a stand against this ****. Forcing people who WANT THE ORIGINAL TERMS OF PURCHASE HONORED to reset their characters is a kick below the belt, and a very ham-handed and childish way to get yourself out of a corner YOU PAINTED YOURSELVES INTO.
HOW TO CONTACT SONY: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/contact_options/
call them, or spam their live chat en-masse, bullying tactics to prevent honoring the original terms of purchase is simply unacceptable, and if they're willing to do underhanded business tactics like this, what will they do in the future? We should have expected as much from a company that thinks "greed is good" anyways. |

We should have expected as much from a company that thinks " greed is good" anyways. I think you need to direct this at CCP first. As I stated in the other thread this approach will lead to a full reset. I think the best approach should be a demand for a percentage of AUR spent per Merc.
Maybe start a petition on here.
Someone create a good lawyer speak petition. Everyone who is interested sends in their own petition. Give it a timeframe for a response. If they don't respond satisfactorily, send one to Sony.
Choose your path wisely because you could end up dooming this game if the end result is a full reset.
I'm not sure I can start from scratch again. This would be my 3rd reset and the proto bar is even higher to reach now.

We've been over this already with CCP. Even worse, we were assured that they WERE NOT doing this. I actually bought another $20 worth of stuff after they told us they were "instituting a Merc pack reimbursement program" on their word that this would be handled fairly.
Well, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...
I'm not going to bully CCP back to honor the product they purchased. If they don't want to treat me like a paying customer that's been supporting this game for the last year, then I'll just stop being a customer. If they don't fix this in the next few days, I'll be resigning from my director roll and deleting the client.
They've had their chance to get this right, and they are making it clear that they don't believe they need to honor their word and supply their customers with the products we purchased. If their customers have to lodge formal complaints just to get things they already paid for, why would we want to be their customers on the first place? |

The more I think about it though the choice should protect CCP legally although I'm not sure it's remotely the right thing to do from a customer service standpoint.
They need to throw people who spent money a bone. Give a partial refund of AUR.
Something. Maybe they should have a vote similar to the SP cap vote.
I don't want to see a bunch of people leave the game due to this. |

Here, I'll let you in on a little secret. Dust was quick to co-opt the Eve catchphrase "Adapt or Die", but it did so before it really knew what it meant. You probably thought that like any other game it was to do with the simple act of winning and losing, but if nothing changes, why would anyone need to adapt? You'd simply settle into a comfortable winning strategy and stay there until you burnt out after a year or two of pulling the same bull**** in matches.
This, right now, is what it really means. Will you cry and wave your arms when things get flipped upside down, and the best is no longer the thing you thought it was, or will you "HTFU" and deal with it? Looking at the Dust forums right now, all I see is tears from people who assumed there was a skill finish line and a one true best fitting, and loved to throw accusations of QQ around the forums when they had everything figured out, but Eve players have seen this kind of upheaval so many times in the last ten years they must be looking at this and laughing at us.
Ask yourself this: Do you want a game that you drill for three years, never changing, until you realise the community around it has started to die and you're on a sinking ship, or would you like something that is still surprising you five years and infinite stories from now? If you want the latter, you're going to have to get used to change, or perish. If only there was a catchy way of summing that up. |

That's how refunds work.
EVERYTHING is returned. Including your SP.
It is also worth noting that non-booster Aurum items are also listed as being refunded:
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/05/uprising-skill-point-re-spec-details
CCP Eterne wrote:What will be removed or changed? And what will be reimbursed?
All AUR items will be cleared and users reimbursed with their current AUR value (with exceptions noted previously)
So...
You will get back all the Aurum you spent on items IN YOUR INVENTORY. You will not get back the Boosters from the Merc Pack or Aurum you spent on consumed items.
If you want all of your stuff refunded, the characters associated with that stuff have to be reset to the point before they could have consumed any of that stuff.
It is perfectly fair. The only alternative is a general wipe of all characters, which I don't want to do since I don't care about getting any of my Merc Pack stuff refunded. |
