OBs are a broken mechanic. They are currently the "great equalizer" or the "win more" tool.
CCPs answer to these concerns - if you are good you can get one too ... |

They were asked that exact question at fanfest, and that is their exact response. Surprised there wasn't raging already. |

It's going to be interesting to see, that's for sure.
Why do they deserve to kill the better players that they can't win a gunfight with? It's not an area denial tool, it is an "I Win" as they are inescapable (there is the luck of poor placement by the issuer, but that's not a legitimate defense). A simply 2-3 second delay would allow you to clear a bunkered down objective, not just blop everyone dead wherever you see red. |

Aisha Ctarl wrote:I well timed OB can totally throw a battle in the opposite direction of where it was headed. I view OBs as a tactical object and not a "hurr durr we just go an OB lets use it guize!" object. I'm fine with the amount of WP to obtain one stays the same because most idiots will just use them immediately to see "KILL, KILL, KILL....." flash across their screen instead of using it when it may really make a difference.
It's still free kills. Using them tactically just makes *you* smarter, not OBs more less unfair. |

Well warbarge precision strikes shouldn't even be in PC if you ask me, if you want an orbital strike, you NEED an EVE pilot. Those do have a bit of a delay to them, or so I've been told. This isn't so much about "deserve" as it is about making a cool and fun gaming environment. If we were going off of "deserve", EVE pilots would "deserve" to have unlimited orbitals and just glass every DUST match ever
Deserve as in work for it. Not deserve as in realism. 100% agree warbarge strikes in PC means no one will bother to get EVE support, keeping the games isolated.
Hmm, that would be a great second task for the CSM... |
