Remove the cap or loosen the throttle. Give DS pilots logi type WP bonuses(see body for details i bolded it), Remove the 1s=5WP mechanic since the only real reason is for DS pilots and new players who cant earn WP. Make the xWP=xSP larger.
Do more 3x SP events, specifically tying them to merc events like "caldari prime" to really get login numbers high and get more ppl to do those events(2 birds 1 stone).

Its human nature to do the least amount of work to get the most amount of result (its the underpinning of why communism fails because people are inherently fighting entropy by expending the least amount of energy possible).
When a system gives you a marginally higher rate of return for actively playing the game as it does just loading it up and sitting in the MCC freeing you up to go and do something else the answer becomes obvious what to do.

Then we get lets make it all passive fail suggestions. Yea that will work over well with FPS players who want to powergrind and level up its the nature of the genre, to unlock as much content as possible to enjoy 100% of the games offerings.
This whole AFK bit is a symptom of a larger issue, yes the grind is a grind but CCP has not given us an intelligent way to enjoy the grind or make it feel like its worth the added effort(human beings require incentives to do acts and when you take away those incentives you take away the drive.) I still maintain grinds are needless time sinks but at least make a way to incentivize players to want to do it.
The clear solution was to make a booster that allows active to be earned as passive and open up the throttle a bit on the soft cap. People play through the burnout stages of a game if they have more things worth grinding for. But when you throttle it there is no more incentive to grind. If you take it away alltogether then people stop playing and sit and let the game develop their character for them. (it will also result in multiple PSN accounts all running passive SP characters, hell id start with 10 and let 9 of them sit for the year).

The caveat is this current system is in place to help out DS pilots since like Logibros prior to this build have no real way to earn SP short of squashing people with their dropship.(they need vehicle kill assist bonues and troop transport bonuses, and perhaps extend the assist for a 30s timer post dropoff to really make them worhtwhile). Once youve done this you can eliminate the 1S=5SP mechanism and open up the 1WP=xSP portion of the active gain both on hardcap(should just go away or be larger).If the 3x SP event has taught us anything this game is about gaining SP because SP=stronger, more versatile, more powerful characters.
They need to have these events more often. I suggested they be done for major FW events to drive the base to login and to participate in those events to really drive "caldari prime" type events and seriously inflate the numbers to influence the outcome.
