@Bob, sounds like you were being pimp slapped with Flux Nades. All other nades do decreased damage to shields, including swarms. They do + damage VS armor.

I had a squad mate take out a STD tanks, don't recall which one, with a scrambler pistol. Of course he will never take a kill like that from my forge gun again. Next time I will reload in time to have two rounds to finish off the tank, leaving him with Assist. Which is fine. After he calmed down the rest of the squad pointed out that all he did was reduce the points since I was defend order and it was my kill. He got no commission from it.

How I solo tanks.
Take one sever logi suit add two complex damage mods stir in a breech MD. Fold in two prox mines and a compact hive. I like to use AV nadez but flux work well also. Now pour you prox into a spot where the tank with be moving over. Let the proxes simmer in the heat of battle. When the tank rolls over them charge in with the MD blazing and chuncking AV nades. It's cheap, fun and it works. Serve with tears to friends for a wonderful time.

For the cheapest way to get a 3k swarm launcher do the following steps.

Get a Proto swarm
Get an A Series
Stick triple damage mods on the A Series (all 10x damage mods, that gives you 10%, 8.7% and 5.7% due to stacking penalties iirc)
Find tank.
Place Nanohive
Fire.

Good work OP, can you explain to us what the tanker was doing at the time? Where were you? Was he stuck? was he far too cocky and stayed out in the open hoping to tank you? It is easy for the rest of us to say "Haha what a noob thinking he could sit out in the open and not die" but we're jumping to conclusions.

I've been solo'd plenty of times in my tank, it wasn't that I planned to be out in the open, more than I tried to escape but was very far from the redline (We'd been holding the enemy redline then suddenly all the points flipped and now I'm being chased by protoswarms hitting me from behind, ofcourse I can't make it back to the redline because this guy is behind cover blocking the only retreat I have, If I try the other way I end up in a swarm of red infantry with AV nades) lose lose situation.
