Never heard an afker say they do it to **** people off, but shouldn't that be an even bigger reason to deal with it?

I know a few that do this just to have ccp work on fixing it you may not notice that but a lot of people are doing it for that reason

At least in that case, the bank robbers would be giving the money back, I bet the AFK farmers will just continue to expect something for nothing with no punishment.

I'm going to have to agree with this. I know a lot of us - myself included - would just take our beating from CCP if they decided to take away the AFK sp - but I doubt most others would be as chill. A lot of threads openly suggest and say they're entitled to CCP's screw up.

I seriously hope that as "payment for their help" they get to keep a minimal amount of SP for their "AFK bughunting". 1500 per day since the start of this ****, no more, no less.

They profit for their help, though not hugely as I assume most expect to.

lol - Let me emphasis something for you since you seem new. Every person in this forum - every single one - said not to do SP per second because of AFK farmers. CCP trolls us way too much - and then they do this crap even after a thousand warning and 2 thread juggernauts. for there idiocy I have no problem with AFK farming myself and will not give anyone crossed eyes for doing it themselves - especially the forum goers who are taking the most heat for trolling back.

But it's gone beyond telling CCP they're butt-tards. It's become a fad and the 'cool' thing to do. So for me - at least - it's starting to become unacceptable. But it still doesn't change CCP enabled this to happen knowing it would and stated nothing negative towards the part of the community that does do this - and in fact - are qouted as saying it's ACCEPTABLE as they want mercs to play how they want - and that includes sabotage.

I would lay out an argument complete with support and facts and logic, but since you assume I'm in Dreddit I have to assume you either can't or won't read so that's out of the picture (not an Eve player, just Dust, no Dreddit membership, only affiliation). I will also try to keep this short so you may be able to understand bits and pieces.

I earned all of my 7.2 million SP. I have never afkd a single game. I think its cowardly. I think its ******. I think its cheating. And I think it is ruining the game for myself and others who want to play. And people that do it are reaping some of the benefits without putting in the work, and that is ****** to all of us who want to earn everything fairly. Afking doesn't make you clever. You're not being smart by taking advantage of the parameters of the game. It makes you something just short of a cheater. And you're ruining the game for everyone else.

See here's the thing, man, I have nothing against sabotage, subterfuge or trying do whatever we wanna do when it comes PC and corp relationships and stuff like that. Like you said, it's a sandbox. What I do have a problem with is that when more casual or new players show up and they're expecting to enjoy the gaming experience, all of a sudden you have 4 people AFK on their team! And oh yeah, CCP should have fixed it. They haven't though and that's not a good enough reason to go AFK farm like a ************! It's another thing to protest against CCP, but I have a feeling this whole AFK thing ends up hurting the game and community more than it's gonna motivate CCP.

You aren't really the issue here; 9v15 pub matches and the game's hemorrhaging of new players is the problem

Give mercs the freedom to play how they want, regardless if that kills the game. Call it AFK 514 and watch it sink. Nobody will give that game second look. You would have it all to yourselves, till you all decided to go "help" some other game..right into its grave.

AFKing can be a benefit to the team

Lets take a player and call him bob

Bob is a sniper, a bad one tho, he returns to the same place where he died several times, at the end of the match bob goes 0-7, bob would have helped the team if he AFK'd by not using up clones

Back on the forums bob is hated because he is a bad sniper but he has done nothing all game and got 0 WP but he still gets SP, now bob basically AFK'd a different way by dying once in a while on the mountain somewhere but he did nothing for the team

Bob ways are no different to an AFKer, he didnt help the team and took up clones thats even worse than an AFKer at least he stays alive

AFKing will be around until its fixed, during the epic grind yday i didnt AFK once, i did the 'bob the sniper' method and basically died while i tried to snipe, i played but i didnt give it my all is that AFKing?
