Lot-¦s of QQ, and yet, no concrete information.
Does anyone know (and have reference) of the total ammount of skillpoints trainable at the next expansion? The "100 years" t otrain them all seems way farfetched, and without this total it-¦s hard to calculate the proper time.
May someone please fill the gaps?
This 100 year number seems a bit odd, could you please insert the proper calculations and references of the skilltree ?
Skilltree total SP: ?
1 - [Non Boosted] Passive SP Week: ? + Active SP/Week: (Cap + 63K): ? = Total SP/Week (Non Bosted): ?
2 - [Boosted] Passive SP Week: ? + Active SP/Week: (Cap + 94.500k): ? = Total SP/Week (Bosted): ?
___________
1 - [Non Boosted] Skilltree total SP / [Total SP/Week (non Boosted)] = X Weeks
X Weeks / 52 = Y Years.
2 - [Boost] Skilltree total SP / [Total SP/Week (Boosted)] = X Weeks
X Weeks / 52 = Y Years.
PS - The extra SP by the Cap is 1000WP/Match, playing 9 matches per day (About 3 hours), every day of the week. |

They said 7 years, not 100.
Some people earned 10 million SP in 4 months, so it's safe to speculate 30 million in a year.
The Uprising footage shows the player with over 250 million SP earned.
So at that rate, it's a bit under 10 years.
This is meant to make it so people choose a path. |

Don't worry, when they normalise our SP on Monday and everyone starts on the same 13Mill+ SP you will see that they have increased the SP payout by the same percentage.

220 million was the sp used to max out char for fanfest, rest was unspent.
Works out to be over 7 years using active/passive boosters and stopping at cap each week.
More expansions will add skills faster then you can train all of them, so real time to max everything is never. Either content will keep being added or servers will shut off preventing training, I vote the first one, either way all skills will never be maxed out without dev hacks. |

I think these CoDnoobs would choke if they saw how long it takes to train up to be an effective Titan pilot. (on my reasonably skilled character, it would take another 131 DAYS just to get in the HULL.)
You're not meant to have endgame gears within a couple of months. You're CERTAINLY not meant to be able to use everything and have all skills maxed! |

I'm amused at their lamentations though. I think we should string them along some more with the hope that they can, see how far we can lead the dummies without a leash.

I find futile the notion of maxing out all skills, i like a role, i specialize in it, 6-9 months i should have all the relevant skills at lvl 4 and the difference between 4 and 5 is minimal. Those who fail to understand the concept can-¦t see why my 28m char in Eve Online is better at Amarr stuff than my 86m one. (For subcapitals of course)

True.

All this analysis on the skill progression system, the tears of the non New Eden players and all that is very interesting and i agree.
However, the question i made at the original post is quite simple:
May anyone with knowledge on the new skill tree, and the new SP progression system, please fill out the numbers?
I know there are threads with something similar to these calculations, but the question is pertinent to the new system, not the old one. |

There is 240 million sp in the new expansion. That will double soon as we only have half the suits and tanks ect. That's 480 millionsp. It takes 10 weeks to get 4 million sp , with boosters,
Ok now please do some math iI'm done being the only sane person.
A titan takes 177 days not 133 you have to train the skills before hand to max it.
The new dropsuits have capital ship level sp requirements, but hey that's ok who cares right !!!!*** |

It takes a year to get 15 million sp , without boosters. No its no 80 years , but its far to high for a game that will grow the way dust will. Eve online only has a total of 400 million sp after ten years of expansions. Dust allready takes longer and its only year one.

Would anyone play eve if frigates took 6 months each to fly ? No they wouldn't becuase that would be crazy. So your initial claim was that it would take over 100 years, then you "corrected" it down to 80, to train all the skills in Uprising's release with constant use of both active and passive boosters.
Now you're counting yet-to-be-implemented skills on top of that, and making painfully flawed assumptions about those skills, and even using your blatantly-false estimates, and the new admission to be using the a totally un-boosted SP count for the year, we see the following:
480 million SP total to earn, 15 million per year.
480 / 15 = 32.
Nice clean number, that. 32 years for all current content AND most of the announced future content that will be coming in the next 2 years. A more reasonable answer would be 20-ish years for currently-announced content, both for Uprising and the near future.
Now to poke holes in your assumptions:
1. You assume that because we have half the vehicles and suits, we have half the skills. The base skill for vehicle operation is already there, which will apply to the unlocking of different vehicle types. The piloting skill is already there, which unlocks Dropships, and may unlock Assault Dropships and Fighters in Uprising and future builds. We have skills for Missile and Hybrid Turrets, which will apply to at least some future weapon options on vehicles. We have Dropsuit Command, which unlocks the various Frame Sizes, andwe have the relevant skills for each of those Frame Sizes. We have Weaponry, which is a core skill for unlocking the different weapon-related skills. We have a HUGE amount of skills which already act as prerequisites for certain functions in the game, and almost all new gear will be operating through those skills, so no, we're NOT going to be doubling the SP count by doubling the number of items.
2. You're assuming that nobody actually paid attention when you posted 100 years then said 80 even with boosters, and are now suggesting a still-exaggerated figure that's less than half the lower of your previous made-up numbers. This is a really important mistake to avoid in future. If you've publicly stated something really stupid, own up to the fact that you got it really, REALLY wrong. People WILL remember, and if you deny it, they WILL be able to find and produce quotes, links and datestamps to prove it. Sometimes they might even have screenshots just in case you go back and edit your earlier comments to try and look innocent.
3. You assume that just having the hull requirements is enough in EVE, when that's closer to being true in DUST than it is in EVE, and isn't true here either. |

Um 32 years of skills, is allready roo much. And we are only counting all the races being flushed out. They said this is coming very soon as the art is done, it would be out today if they had it ready .
In eve I have had 6 years of passive traiing and I'm maxxed out in all frigates, all weapons, all cruisers, all battle ships, all Bcs, all logistic ships, all tech 2 frigates and cruisers, all shield and armor tanking skills, all rig skills, somecapital ship skills. And more !
And all with just 60 million sp.
60 million sp is dust goes farther becuase skills are cheaper, yet, with 60 million sp in dust ill only just have support skills, one gun , and like 1 scout lav, 5 dropsuits.
See here is the issue, eve has 19.8 years of skills. It has over 300 skills to level up. Dust takes 32 years and only has about 80skills. Do you really not see the issue here ????
You are assuming I'm QQing, I'm not , this is so broken its a game killer. Eve started at 4 years total to train, with more skills than dust has today. Its like people defending a 70$ mt item. |

Probably closer to 20 years using numbers that have any rational logic behind them, and that's including content that WON'T be here for Uprising.
Did you even read my post?
EDIT: Also, you spelt $70 wrong. And I fixed a typo in my own post. |

false? Was there an anouncement that we aren't getting ammar light frames? minmatar heavy frame? minmatar tanks? minmatar LAVs? Minmatar LAVs,Minmatar heavy suits, Caldari heavy frame, caldari light frame, gallente heavy frame, Ammar tanks, ammar LAVs, and ammar dropships?
Yes I read your post you obviously didn't read mine :/
if you only include uprising it's 240 million sp, or 16 years of training. Stop trying to justify a horrible mistake.
If you take what dust has and compare it to just those skills in eve online, the same skills would only take 4 years instead of 16. |
