Well CCP has confirmed that the Arena mode will be a souce of spectating fun as you can fight as, or watch other mercs fight in game modes that wouldn`t fit elsewhere in new Eden but beside a game itself so modes like CTF tag (if you it, your kills count etc) FFA etc, go ahead and post your ideas and let CCP what you would like.
world of tanks: use tanks to fight across the battlefeild in FFA and TDM modes.
Air controll: spawn in on the ground on landing pad islands and run to a vehicle (or vaporize 1 from you assets), vehicles avviable are LAAs and DS (maybe HAAs). fight for kills in TDM modes or in a domination mode, ghost islands our scattered across the map and if its a air port, fly your vehicle into a floating ring above to take it as your own. other islands ahve large installations on it but would need deployment of a DS to get there.
dogfight (its going to happen, embrace it!) fight with LAAs (maybe even other vehicles, up to CCP, aslogn as they are airial) in the ultimate dogfight, you spawn in cloaked but flying in the air. the objective is simple kill the other team or everyone else for the best KDR.
Air supiority: fight with LAAs as you try to restle for the skies, there are many floating rings above power plants and other sigths of value and its your job to fly through them, for each fighter that flies through for lets say the red team, a red bar will appear, you will need 6 bars to controll, with the max ammount of bars as 10, for each hostile fighter that flies trhough will subtract a red abr or add a blue bar if no red abrs are excisting.
LAV assualt: fight in teams of 2 in FFA and TDM modes in fast a frentic fights.
(note, militia starter fits will provided for free based on your race but you can take your own gear in if selected in spawn.).
although mind is based on vehicle fights game mode ideas do not have to by limeted to vehicles, just wanted to varify that.

Of course there would need to be a large selection of styles, varients, and sizes to choose from. |

Lore-Wise the Amarrians pit rouge clones in a Collesium like arena to worship their gods, or Minmatar tribes do this as a coming-of-age test. I hope this makes sense. I'm not too hot on New Eden lore. |

56 km from here there is a spaceport - can't miss it - as you go in the front door there are some lockers on the right. Inside the locker there is a duffel bag, inside the duffel bag there is 2 million ISK. First one there keeps it all. And uh... that's it.

I'm sensing an infantry only mode, where all vehicles are left at the gates as mercs slug it out for all to see. CCP said they would also include the ability to make bets on the fights, so I can certainly see some corps/mercs speculating on the fights. |
