Hello everyone,
I'd like to welcome you to the Sand Mercenary Corps.
We pride ourselves on our team play and the good nature of our members, and hope that you find or have found our members to be a good group of people to play with or even against. With that said, we are no push overs and always strive to bring out the best in each other while still maintaining a positive atmosphere.
We do follow our core values, and here is what we conduct ourselves by:
Teamwork Communication Friendly Helpful Constantly Improving
We very much enjoy team play and our battle plans and training are never on the individual level. Our core belief is achieving excellance through each other's help.
We also have active planning going on for Planetary Conquest and if you want to make your mark in New Eden, this is the place to be. We are always planning and improving our squad and team tactics, and for you strategists and squad leaders out there, I would invite you to join us in battle. Our members are attentive to our squad leaders and we also practice our squad and team tactics.
We are constantly forming alliances with other Dust corperations and maintain a very positive position in the community. You should never be afraid to say hello and engage in a friendly chat with us and if any of our members are being rude, then please feel free to let myself or Sandromin know.
If you wish to be more then you can be on your own and have a smile and laugh while doing so, please give us a shout.
Feel free to post here for more information or feel free to contact myself, Argus Noland, or Sandromin Hes for more details.
Hope to see you on the battlefield. |

There may be a possibility of doing so seeing as we are planning to enter the Planetary Conquest gameplay. We are currently in a Coalition with a couple other small corps with the intention for support in combat.
I raised the topic in our corp forums and I'll be speaking with the other directors about this. I will get back to you with our intentions as soon as we come to a decision.
But thank you for the invitation. |

We're still open to players looking for fun battles with a strong team environment. We are not strict on attendance and K/D and welcome players of any skill level. We only ask to be respectful to fellow players. :) |

We're recruiting team players and offer squads at many levels of skill. Training is also offered for those who wish to improve in Dust. High level team players are very much welcome for organized squads, just as new players looking for a start in Dust. |

1 more day away before Conquest begins. Looking for team players of all types. Higher skilled players will be integrated directly into Conquest teams and players requiring some practice and training will be aided and assisted to bring out their potential as Dust mercs :)
Look forward to seeing everyone in Conquest soon! |

Crazy Cat Lady wrote:What time zones do most of your members come from? I'm in Australia so I play at odd hours.
Currently we hold a strong North America presence but that is mostly due to the current group of directors being available during those times. We do have a few members in EU and Oceanic time zones and our coalition does have membership in those timezones aswell. We also have some NA players who play during typical EU and OC time zones aswell just because of thier odd schedule.
We would gladly welcome someone who is willing to assist in expanding our roster in other timezones. Not only to help diversify our community but to help us with round the clock coverage of Conquest. Showing the initiative goes a long way with anyone. |

Do you use voice comms?
EDIT: Oh, and do you have EVE support?
Hey Munch (Please excuse me if you don't mind me not saying the first part publicly )
We very much enjoy having good sniper support in our teams, and while snipers are common, it's rare to find a good one.
The only question I'd have with you being a sniper is what is your goal? Often snipers I meet are just itching to get tons of kills but often what is needed is just someone who is watching the battlefield and relaying intel while getting the occasional counter-snipe and hack denial.
As for voice comms, yes we do. Whenever we squad up we ask our members to always be on voice comms. If they do not have a mic they can atleast listen in. The majority of our squad leaders do have mics though and all the squad leaders going into Conquest have mics.
As for EVE support. We do have a moderate list of capsuleers available to us and the list grows by the day. We are not one of the big power players but we have a group of skilled and crafty individuals that work hard to get us the support we need. |

Hey Matt, thank you for your interest in the corp. I would suggesting joining the chat channel SMC Public. You can do this by entering your NEOCOM and under the social section. I believe it's labeled chat.
I'm not on at the moment, I am at work so I don't have the game in front of me.
If you like aswell, you can simply apply by going to the "search" section under the "corperation" tab and look for our corp name. The shorthand is SMCin if that will help with the typing. One of the directors will have a quick chat with you to make sure we're the right place for you :) |

1. Use Munch. All the other names were taken. Just don't call me late for supper.
2. Sniping is fun but I really feel that to be an asset I have to act like a scout as well, so my goal fits with your expectation. I don't even mind rushing in to do a quick hack either.
3. Voice comms will be critical if I'm going to scout and snipe. Do you use Mumble or some other program? I'm a n00b to this game, so I'm not sure if the game (PS3 version) supports voice comms.
4. As long as we can get some orbital strikes and some good stuff to use a smaller corp will probably be ok (again, I'm a n00b so I might be completely wrong).
How can I contact you guys in-game? I look forward to chatting with you.
Well, that works out. Nice to meet you Munch. :)
It seems you have the right idea about sniping in Dust. It seems like you'll be a great person to have on our team ^,^
We use in game comms as many of our members don't have a nearby computer or device that can be used to facilitate an alternative voice comm program. We can walk you through how to use in game comms in Dust. You will need a mic that will work with the PS3, which is typically a bluetooth mic, or a converter to turn analog headsets into usb which is what I use.
As for how to contact us, feel free to join our public chat channel, SMC Public. Also you can send me a mail in game and when I get home (about 4-5 hours from now) I'll be available to get you into the corp myself. If you join the chat channel and another director speaks with you, just tell them you talked with me on the forums and give them a brief overview of what we talked about here.
Thanks again for your interest in our corp. I look forward to playing with you soon ^,^ |

Sorry about that Matt. Most of our leadership is currently in the EST or CST time zones. We're still working on expanding our influance across the time-zones.
We should have one of the directors online by typically 21:00 EVE time and I'm usually on around 23:00 EVE time.
Look forward to seeing you in game :) |

Undead Beans wrote:I'm just starting in Dust 514, but I'm a veteran FPS player going back to titles like the original Call of Duty and the early Medal of honor games. I also rocked the sticks on Battlefield 3, and I'm currently playing on a Black Ops 2 team, but I'm ready for a new thing, and Dust 514 looks like a good bet.
If you're still looking for active members, I would love to get a shot at joining you folks. I've been playing in a sniping capacity almost exclusively thus far, but I can work to fit whatever role you need.
See you in-game.
Hello there Undead Beans!
Welcome to Dust! Hope you've been enjoying your time in the game so far.
We are always looking for active members. We have a lot going on in the corp right now and we're expanding rapidly. We've managed to grab a couple districts in Conquest with a strong backing in our coalition. With your strong FPS backround, I'm sure you'll enjoy the great metagame Dust offers at the battlefield and galatic level.
Give me a shout in game and we'll have a quick chat to make sure we're the right place for you |

Ok so I'm here about your post in my thread regarding joining a corp. I have thoroughly researched all who posted, and have found yours to be the most fitting. I would like to apply. Please let me know if there is a further process I should follow to do so. Thank you for your time and attention. Regards, Azrael
Hi Azreal,
Thank you for your consideration. We would certain enjoy having you with us. What time are you available tomorrow? We have a couple Conquest battles to partake in but we can certainly find a time to have a chat. I'm typically available between 23:00 and 03:00 EVE time.
Alternatively you can send me a mail in game and we can discuss from there. We just want to have a discussion with you and make sure we are the right place for you.
Thank you for your time, look forward to seeing you in game. |
