But to be honest all I care about is seeing mercs thrown over the hood of my car as I laugh like a maniac.
That would be more fun, honestly, for everyone involved. It would also be fun to be able to punt people if you hit them just right. |

No, it's not really, I agree.
In fact, I think LAVs should go boom if they run into a Heavy. Heavies need some love, slower, though tougher too. I think they'd make great semi-mobile bollards that double as self-aware ground-based POS guns. |

Like everything else in this game LAV impacts should have a FIXED DAMAGE. Auto-kills are a no-no...If the damage exceeds the target's total health? FINE--he's dead.
I'm sorry but going 5mph and OHK a guy is lame.
Also, tanks should be able to run people over rather than bumping them. This. |

you are instantaneously accelerating from 0-35mph suit is probably just fine, thats a lot of energy for the shields so they might collapse but the suit is ok, but we have to represent some how that your insides are scrambled.
agreed tanks should run over every thing instead of crashing but the games physics are crap, and if a tank hits you fast enough you go splat. You know E=MC-¦ doesn't have any relevance to how collision damage is calculated, right? That calculation is for working out the energy release by the breakdown of matter during nuclear fission. You know what an Atomic Bomb is? Yeah, it's that. If your calculation was actually relevant to kinetic energy in a collision, then a person running into a parked car at 20 km/h should get just as badly injured as when they get run over by the car travelling at 120 km/h because there's no velocity variable in the calculation.
What SHOULD happen is that the two objects' RELATIVE velocity is counted, and each takes damage based on that speed combined with the mass of BOTH objects. If a speed-tanked Scout is sprinting full-speed just ahead of an enemy LAV with armour plates to slow it down, and the LAV catches up and nudges him, it shouldn't kill the Scout outright, although it will knock him out of sprint, meaning the next impact is a higher relative velocity. If the same Scout runs headlong into a speeding shield LAV, the LAV should take more damage from the collision even as it splatters him across the map.
you are right my bad wrong equation e=mv^2. As for hitting the ground you absorb all the shock in the legs of your power assisted suit which takes the brunt of the damage, its amazing what a crumple zone can do to save your life. and yes the damgae calculations for some reason dont calculate collision damage but some stupid dragging damage **** why am I deffending this **** |

Is that the right equation? Anyways, I agree.
I think a full armor tank heavy should kill a shield tanked LAV on impact, because damn, heavies are god damn heavy.
