With the addition of planetary conquest we need a way to get news to people in game. Not just on the forums
A live news feed would
1. Allow players to get to know what is going on without having to check the forums
2. Players would feel more involved in the game
3. could help corps in getting popular.
4. Could help corps strategize by knowing what corps have won and taken districts and what corps are losing.
Not just news about PC though, Corp battle news like what corp has just won against another corp.
Maybe ceo's could write in a section of the news kind of like an interview or something like that.
CCP would have there own section regarding dev blogs new updates and things of this nature.
Whatever corp you are in could have it's own personal news. The ceo could update using it, it would say if a member joined or left. What player is doing what if in game or in there merc quarters.
Whats some peoples opinions on this? |

CCP mentioned something about ad placement for Aurum if players want to promote their corp in the marketplace or somewhere else.
All they have to do is add a bulletin board to your merc quarters or something. |

I actually posted something like this on the Eve Forums a couple of years ago. The idea was that any alliance or corp could put together a poster (and eventually a video) that would cycle through the TV in the quarters. In Eve, you could also bid for "Ad Space" in specific systems, and have the ads play in the space billboards and in the quarters. That would have led to larger alliances advertising in the populous systems, and the smaller ones in the outlying systems, which would have been cool. This is obviously much simpler, since we can't travel, but in any case, the TV is a good place to play ads. |

'cause new eden players are pushy for core gameplay :(
If you're not aware, there are two pretty good news sites for eve. I'm betting that they'll be looking for freelance reporters to write articles on Dust PC.

While I admit it would be nice to be able to view these things on my big TV in MQ, players are going to do a way better job of reporting the news than CCP would. That's why CCP is player-sourcing the content for the new graphic novels, etc.
Or to put it another way, if it affects New Eden, it IS PART OF THE GAME, even if it is on a browser, or a jabber client, or twitter, or IRL. |

I understand the sentiment, but I think it ultimately encourages dev laziness. There should be a useful bare minimum of information within the game itself for those of us who aren't that into the metagame. (Killing off UVTs was a good start, though.) |

Really liked this idea. When I first thought about your idea I was like, "Thats f'n cool" then I went, "What if I dont wanna see that sht?"
I would suggest a crawl on the bottom like CNN/ESPN has that explains this weeks affairs (who fought whom (outcome) etc.), but also offer a box in settings "TICKER OFF" check the box if you don't want to see it |

it would most likely be a separate television, so you wouldnt have to see it if you didnt want to |

Eve Online has this little news thing where they mention who lost a system somewhere, and against who. Something similar, though perhaps a bit more informative and engaging (visually speaking), would be wonderful.
