Edit: Actually, did SMGs get any semblance of a boost at all or are they still as inaccurate as Storm Troopers? you're bad and should feel bad Try hip-firing those damned things dude. It's a nightmare. That and they don't do much damage... If you want to get anywhere you're practically -required- to have Proficiency to at least 3 and use the Assault variant.
Using the M209 Assault with Level 4 Operations and wrecking people with it. Should probably practice a bit more honestly, I've got a tanked up Type II (eHP=600) with just a SMG and I'm able to go 14/0 easy enough and I'm a vehicle scrub.. just sayin'. |

I used to role with the M209 as my primary weapon as a Scout - it's good, but it's not nearly as effective as it could be. High fire rate is great and all but if the rounds don't do **** (which they don't) then it's going to need a high ammo count, and the fact that it has about 3-4 mags means that you're going to be hitting up the nanohives A LOT. Just easier to use the Assault Rifle. Using the SMG is a nightmare as the hip fire is terrible and aiming down the sights at the ranges needed to use it effectively is just a death sentence. I keep it solely for the sake of finishing off a target who somehow survived the sheer onslaught of the Assault Rifle (which I am so glad is getting the sharpshooter nerf).
I agree on the ADS but hip fire is pretty easy, I actually use an AR as a backup weapon when running an SMG fit (If I can fit it ofcourse). Just need to stay on target and at level 4 SMG your rounds actually go where they're meant too, for me anyways. Most people die in half a clip, heavy takes about 3/4 |
