The great conversation. Please join me ! :)
I know Im going to be moving on, I will certainly get a PS4 :) . Awesome... but one thing that bothers me is Dust514 .. I just cant leave it .. one of the most awesome games on PS3 . Since its easy-er to develop games for PS4 I still have hopes... PS4 will be great machine and I would be disappointed if CCP wount use it...

It seems like i cant find a CCP logo... I know that more are joining and that CCP is closer to sony already .. Just pointing that out..

why are you getting a PS4?
they have zero products that are worth getting, and with the lack of PSN purchases and backwards compatibility it is just a worthless device.
i'd rather spend 500-600 dollars and upgrade my computer to run everything. |

i think ithe ps4 comes with killzone SF ..that means it will be a day1 buy for me. |

Well seeing how CCP has a tend year roadmap for dust I think it's pretty obvious its going to get ported to PS4 at some point. |

Run everything as in? I've got a very good rig myself. But I'll still be getting the ps4. What good is having a powerful car if all your going to treat it like a lawn mower. Other Then FPS, and my horror games. PC gaming is blah. Don't care about korean mmo's. Give a rats ass about indie games that have the graphics of 8bit. So am i getting for console ports? HAHAHA... We all know how console to pc ports are! No for my majority of gaming it's ps4. Sexy little minx. Oh man.. I better be careful or I might get her pregnant.  |

the problem is that sony has conflicting intrests. they don't want to have the PSN be backwards compatable. that is probably the reason CCP is keeping a tight lip on it. |

(slenderman. sorry wasn't scary.) to some decent (amnesia, stalker) And there's a bunch coming out that I'm looking forward too. I play them with my issue of fangoria right next to me. I'm big horror fan. movies and games. |

If you can give me Gran Turismo, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, InFamous, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Rachet & Clank, Jak & Dexter and Dust 514 on PC then i would more than happy to get a gaming PC |

they didn't say anything about FPS issues or connection issues so all will be revealed shortly. |

that sounds like someone else's problem
i get products for usefulness not because ******* are running around buying it. there is something wrong with the console industry when they are charging 20 million dollars just to put a game on their system.
bloated marketing budgets to hype up a peice of garbage then have huge initial sales just for it to end up in a bargain bin in gamestop a week later.
with used games being banned used games are going to be milked by the producers as well.
good luck getting a single player game in the future if you live in an area with bad internet connection, be forced to unlock the game digitally on your console just to be forced on a server in order to play it. and after a year the server will get shut down and that single player game will never be able to be played again. |

CCP will most likely make a ps4 version of dust514. I am no financial analyst but im pretty sure it would be a bad decision to stick to the older console, when presumably the market is going to be moving to the newer console over time.

considering the fact that PS3 had very very poor initial sales you would be seen as ******** to bet on a slow horse. it's going to cost too much for what it is and depending on the initial line up of no games you are going to see a drastic drop in players. it's an already low active player game. running into the same individuals over and over on matchmaking is a let down. and you're willing to cut that by an eighth at best? |

Lots of games announced for PS4 are also coming to PS3 at the same time. I don't see any reason why Dust couldn't be released on PS4 as essentially the same game plus graphical improvements and allow play with PS3 players. There's no reason both versions couldn't co-exist for several years while players gradually move over to the newer system. I don't see how else you could practically accomplish it.
I also found it curious that CCP were not releasing the Dust TV spot until late in the year. Something else is also likely to be released around that time, yes? Maybe a coincidence. Maybe not. |

Dust uses unreal....and Unreal 4 has already demoed on PS4 test machines.
Pretty sure porting Dust 514 to the PS4 is trivial. And the CCP devs have said they will have Dust 514 on both consoles. No need for the fear mongering. |

There is even a podcast over at IGN with CMO David Reid and he states something like we have a 10yr Road map for Dust it will be on PS4 but he doesnt even want to speculate an ETA because they still have work to be done on the PS3..
Really wish people would spread that around because im tired of seeing ignorant comments on youtube/on here telling people its going to be released with the PS4..
If you want to support the game go buy a PS3 and start contributing via Aurum or feedback.. If not, don't start QQing on here when you have to wait a few years with your PS4 and limited titles in order to play something you could be enjoying immediately. .
Its not like your character is going anywhere come PS4 launch. .
(This isn't directed towards the OP its directed towards all the Rtards getting excited for the game and wanting to wait for the ps4) |

My backwards-compatible PS3 died. More than 4 years after I bought it. Lasted longer than any of my best friend's 4 XBox 360s that he owned over the same timeframe.
More importantly, though, PS4 isn't going to be amazing on release, but it also isn't going to stay useless for long.
And on the ACTUAL topic, DUST 514 probably isn't going to be moving immediately to PS4, and it'll be a gradual process of a PS4 version of the client, basically just a port of the PS3 version, then a focus on upping the graphics for the PS4 version, but retaining functionality that the PS3 can handle, and eventually phasing out the PS3 version once the majority of the playerbase is on the new machine.
That's my guess, anyway - it's what they've done for EVE, but simplified for consoles. |
