To the fellow Minmatar...
As much as I'd like to see justice be served for those of yours who were hurt as soon as possible, I think this is one matter where geographical jurisdiction takes priority over importance of individuals hurt. Gallente law is the one applicable here as it was Gallente territory, as noted by the news article.
Though I understand that your culture puts enormous value on individuals of given traits, like those called "Ray of Matar", over in Gallente territory, such values of individual isn't of much importance, especially over the death of many others and even those who were injured. What about them? What about the Gallente who died or were injured there? I highly doubt that the Republic would heed an extradition request from the Fed if a Minmatar citizen had been the catalyst of an event such as this happen in Matari territory, with Matari tribesmen dead... and with a major Gallente figure found among the dead. |

You can't really make such a generalization because Gallente society is promotes having different opinions. There will be those who think that Gallente should be the supreme rulers of the world, as those who think that we should stick to ourselves and not let anyone get within a jump from our home star system. In that sense, there will be people that would welcome Minmatar Citizens and teat them as they were their brothers, as much as there are those that think that the Federation is wasting precious money helping your kind, and calling you even a "welfare state".
That this situation brought to light the sentiment of those that wish Minmatar were not as dependent on Gallente society to get themselves propped up makes you think that all Gallente give a damn about other's race's or empires way of life only helps confirm that your a very emotional person and would would not think rationally about this.
Think about what's going on...
A man killed people, and gave himself in to the authorities without causing much trouble afterwards. This likely means that the guy knew what he was getting into, and that he would likely not care if he is killed or physically hurt. This person might well be one of our own "brethren", as most tend to call each other. How do you punish someone that is already desensitized about being hurt? How do you kill someone that may well be re-born in another body and basically get away with his sentence carried out? Seriously, answer me that.
He might also NOT be a clone soldier, but be a racist Gallente extremist, and believe it or not, we do have those in our society as well, as I already explained. |
