Keep the lasers. There are so few out there that are good with a laser, that its not a problem in my opinion. What is scary is when there are 3-4 on the same team and they know how to work together. Mercs frying on the left, melting on the right.
This is one of those instances where the shield they talked about will come in handy.
Laser mercs have to be at the prescribed distance to have full effect, lasers overheat, and the beam gives away the merc's position. The prescribed distance usually provides for a small target so it takes a pretty decent shot to score the kill in one hit or one swipe. I think that is plenty to counterbalance any damage or skill (or lack there-of) advantage that the laser provides.

Haha no.
Lasers in general are fine.
The Viziam specifically has issues, but it's a known problem where the wrong number was entered, and will be fixed in Uprising. Other than the Viziam, there are no OP Lasers. If you're getting killed by non-Viz LRs, it's not the weapon's fault. |

That's the entire point. They're like flux grenades in gun form.
Although I do think the Viz and Elm can burn through armor just a little too quickly. I wouldn't mind tweaking their efficiency against armor downward just a little. |
