AUR items has a lower skill requirements to use than ISK - Progress to "end game gear" faster.

No no no, you-¦re not playing right.

no# 1.) AUR gear is nice to buy and test out with. For example, yesterday I made a Vk 0 suit with Two complex Armor reps, and Two Complex armor plates. However I only have advanced level SP for either of them. SO I was able to test it before I made the leap and spent another 200k SP on it.
no# 2.) AUR allows for the purchase of SP boosters, which in turn allows you to Skill up A LOT faster.... or... well a bit faster anyway. However at the end it doesn't matter because over time everyone is going to platue out anyway. So yes it buys a temporary advantage, but even now people without boosters can still beat me, there was just a time when I had my proto suit a week before a lot of other people is all.
no# 3.) AUR is not pay to win because of a simple mechanic CCP put in. Anything you buy with AUR has an ISK counterpart. Simple as that. If your don't want to spend money then OK! BUT you have to put a little extra time into the game to unlock whatever it is you want. Now there are a few items right now that don't have ISK counterparts but im pretty sure that was just a slip up on CCP's part and there looking into it now. |

Aur isnt p2w it just lets get you things faster thats all it is and your asking why its there in the first place? Thats the stupidest question the developers have to make money someone , and if you do buy aur and when you die you lose that gear just like you lose isk gear so its not winning at all , you want to see a real P2W game? Look at dc unverse online that game is too p2w and its getting worse |

Why? Aside from the lowered skill reqs, they will be totally the same as isk versions come may 6th. The only thing you won't be able to get with isk is boosters, and that's pretty much how CCP will make money out of this game. And boosters still don't give anything you can't get by playing the game without. You just get things at an accelerated rate.
You keep crying about P2W this and P2W that. If it's hurting your feelings that much, and you're so determined to not pay a penny towards the game, I'm sure no one will miss you if you leave. |

I've gotten boosters since day uno. And I due it to have a ADVANTAGE. Not game breaking BUT STILL ADVANTAGE over those that don't. Yeah, Yeah I'll get kills with a militia suit, IF I stick to a team that knows what they or doing. But Here's the break down
ADVANCED SUIT. Skilled player> Militia Suit. skilled player.
Militia Suit. Skilled player. > Advanced Suit. Noob.
There is an advantage. Hence why I have ADVANCED suits. I have one proto and that is for only the war barge. (lobby) I wear it for the ladies. Hi. |

No, but I do expect people with lots of ISK to find people with Aurum stuff to sell when we finally get trading running.
Right now there is a small selection of supremacy goods available. According to CCP they are being removed. We will have to wait and see.
SP boosters, and the aurum items that are designed to allow you early access to items are not P2W at all. |

Because knowing just a tad about software development and economics I can tell you that nothing is "Free". Free to play games need just as much money as subscription games to make (And games cost a TON). It's long hard work so to support the Devs and feed them I'll throw a little cash at the game. Also note that without a solid subscription rate, a method I always prefer in games, FTP games essentially require the more mature, paying customers to subsidize 'free' players.
So lets say Dust would be sustainable at $15/mo
For every person who never gives them a dime, one person has to pay $30 to keep the game a float.
Or if 3 people don't pay, one has to cover the expense at $60. See where this is going? Now the proportion of free players to paying players varies from game to game. I imagine the more balanced it is, the better. Also note that this is where real pay to win games ruin gameplay. They design a generally fun game but place a layer over top it which consists of new game called "Who has the bigger wallet!". Some very sad, pathetic people who I truly pity get into the wallet-duel and will go head to head with someone else at thousands and thousands of dollars each. Those are the games where 1/1000 people are Not free players.
It's always a shame for me to see all the work going into a game that could be fun, being erased by the money-meta game inside it. Dust hopefully aims to maintain avoiding this scenario. By only selling convenience items and cosmetics they make it so it's not necessarily the case that a person who wants to essentially donate $200/mo to Dust, isn't given an IWIN item to always beat other players who pay between $0-99. Note that even the larger things you can buy so far like AUR tanks die just as easily in 2 shots to a militia forge gun that costs 2,000 ISK.

Bloody hell. Sometimes when I read at how people here get more excited about doing other things then battling I think EVE players. Then I think "I hope this game doesn't become a nerd fest, where everyone spends MOST of there time doing everything else but battling. Yes, I get it. It's a new chapter to the EVE Universe. OMG, the implications of how it could affect that universe!! ... no I actually don't care about eve. I've played it. Not my cup of tea. more power to those that like it. BUT THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE AN FPS.
A FPS That doesn't seem to understand basic FPS mechanics. Because it's core are RPG loving eve players that don't understand what makes FPS an FPS. No, not cod or halo. But even them have the rudimentary of what a fps is. |

Exactly. I do it to feed the developers and their families. They're living the dream making games. Someone decided to make the game free-to-play so we have to support them somehow. Spend some Aurum and put food on their tables.
