If you just started to play EvE right now, you wouldnt get a free boost in skill points so you are not 50million SP behind the ones who have been playing for 10 years. The matchmaking just needs to keep people within their own regions, or stick them in the best server available... and thats it.
To understand what im saying, just try an do PvP in EVE then come back... DUST isnt that bad, but it will eventually get there as they bring in stronger suits an weapons, and more destrucitve vehicles.
Two things. first, DUST is not EVE. Even though the games are set in the same universe, they do not need to be a mirror image of one another. I sometimes really get a kick out of unfair and and challenging multiplayer. I like to prevail against seemingly impossible odds. So I do not object to all kinds of different flavors of fairness and balance in gameplay. But telling players to "look for a good corp or quit playing" is terrible. The game should give players enough room to learn and discover a good corp on their own without pissing on them when they're already down. There is a time and a place for that, sure. But it isn't instant battles. The HTFU or GTFO is not a great attitude to throw at someone for their first half an hour with the game. It is not a really great attitude for EVE, either, from what I have read. Which EVE are you talking about, when you say to try and do PvP in EVE?
Second, and more importantly, read this:

CCP offered us fair and balanced fights. It is their idea as much as it is ours. If CCP had said that Instant Battle was going to be a bumpy ride, prepare to die, it is a trial by fire, fine. But they didn't. They don't seem to have achieved their own vision for Instant Battle. 76 to 0 curb stomps are only like the Olympics if you are talking some USA men's basketball vs. most of the rest of the world vision of the Olympics. |
