There's no doubting that you'll find a few players in a game who consistently kill you, not because they're better equipped or skilled, but because your screen goes skippy every time you try to target them, or you damage output doesn't register - plain and simple - so I really share your pain on this - be assured the wider world outside NA also suffers from it.
Whether it's because they are playing from a different region, or have an awful connection, or something else completely, I don't have the facts and figures to say with informed confidence.
And I'm with you, the whole experience with respect to lag symptoms has taken a terrible nosedive in the last few weeks. In the past there'd be an ebb and flow, where some games felt like an even playing field, some even felt like lag was giving me an unfair advantage, but many felt like there was nothing I could do to contribute. Lately it's been awful - to the extent that very few games currently feel worth taking part in.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is really being treated as a serious issue. I love the potential of this game, and it deserves to succeed, but I watched the great Dust keynote presentation from Fanfest, highlighting loads of shiny new features and bells and whistles. And what did they have to say about the fact that core gameplay is so flawed that it's often not worth attempting to play?

If I'd been working hard to resolve these issues, I may have made a bigger fuss about all my work. I'm not convinced that this problem is being taken at all seriously.

Wow, I just played an awesome game - I felt I was in control of my character, the enemy were clearly in control of their characters - good fights all round. I've not had a match playing that smoothly in well over a month.
We were about to win when I was disconnected due to an internal error
Unfortunately, every match since has been the usual fare - I completely out-manoeuvre the enemy, I'm behind them with a loaded gun, they're unaware of my presence, but I *know* that opening fire will just alert them to my presence and they'll kill me, since the game won't let me damage them.
Monday can't arrive soon enough... |
