The number 901 was arbitrarily chosen for no reason at all, but those were the first 3 numbers I pressed, (I think I it would have been 91 in I weren't half asleep.)
I think we need to both diversity, and reduce Grenades. A strange statement to be sure. but it's as apt as I can make it.
Locus Grenades should be the only 'Grenade' we have. Meaning Fragmentation Grenade of course. With Equal Damage to Vehicles and Infantry alike. no homing, but good old fashioned throws. Why this do you ask? It's pretty simple. A Grenade by any other name still blows crap up.
Do away with Anti-Material Grenades (especially those ones that seek out hostile vehicles, but stubbornly refuse to seek out Turret Installations, Supply Depots, and other mechanical and metallic apertures.) And have the Locus Grenade as the 'Standard Fragmentation grenade.
The Flux Grenade can stay, since it's a niche weapon. Does good versus Shields and disables electronic equipment. A good move this way.
Now we'll introduce a new grenade (but old in ways we all know are true) the Flash Grenade. Throw it, blinding white light sears the eyeballs of anyone looking in it's direction, and your ears are ringing with the sounds of irritated bats.
Napalm Grenades. Nothing inspires a little bit of nostalgia than the smell of burning flesh. Napalm Grenades could explode, do only a little damage on explosion, but ignite anything in range of it's explosion for a short period, and leave a pool of damaging fire at the point of impact.
Now for the Tech!
Webifier Grenade. Anything caught in the boundaries of this grenade is slowed for ten seconds (or thereabouts) Higher level grenades have greater slowing effects.
ECM Grenades. Disables enemy radar and locking mechanisms for 10-20 seconds. So Logistics woud be unable to use their repair tools, nor would Swarm Launchers be able to lock on. Or Remote Reps work. Plus they're flying blind but for what they can visually see.. No FOF Markers, no HUD.

AV grenades need to stay but if they can make them AM (anti-Material, to take out vehicles and installations) or thermite, but yes we need more different grenades. If AV grenades are homing then they do need to get rid of that feature. web finder grenades are good EMC seem to be Flux with a different name. i say we should be able to set grenades as taps, but that would reduce the damage so that one Locus can not kill a person. |

Funny how no one mentions the Napalm Grenades I snuck in there. Perfect for area denial (pool of damaging fire) that persists for 20-30 seconds. |

Seemingly one of my less like ideas, but I'll bump it for posterity and as second look. I still believe some of these ideas have great merit. |
