Many thanks to everyone for putting their trust in us, I'm looking forward to helping set up this new Council to be every bit as efficient and productive as the CSM itself has become over the years. One of my big goals is to bypass the 7 years of trial-and-error its taken to get that institution to a healthy place, and get the CPM off to the right start from the very beginning. CCP has chosen some outstanding individuals to represent everyone here, who have demonstrated remarkable commitment to the community and an unquestionable work ethic.
One of the first issues I'm going to address is this utter nonsense about corp ticker - if you think its going to compromise our ability to serve, lets just nip this little idea in the butt right from the beginning. Just as the CSM has year after year, the CPM will be representing the community as a whole, not our individual corps. We will be under supervision and scrutiny from internal affairs, and we literally cannot abuse our positions for corporate or personal gain, or we will be removed, simple as that. So please everyone, lets skip right over the unnecessary drama baiting about which corp we belong to, and start reaching out to your representatives with your issues and concerns.
Inter-corp and Inter-alliance drama has zero place on the council, and all wars / beefs / conflict that happen in-game get laid aside when we work as a team to represent the community. That is why the CSM is strong, and I'm going to ensure that the CPM operates with the very same principles.
I'll try to answer any questions I can before leaving for Iceland for Fanfest tomorrow, but I'm quite busy packing and running errands, so I appreciate everyone's patience and I look forward to hitting the ground running as soon as I return.

RECON BY FIRE wrote:You obviously dont know Jenza then cause youre only covering half of the main issue here. The other issue is her lack of ability to lead and work with other people. She hasnt even had a presence in Dust since January or maybe mid February. This is evidenced by the Betamax youtube page not having any new additions for two months and her twitter account going almost completely silent.
Fear not, if Jenza drops the ball and walks away from her responsibilities, I'll happily throw her under the bus myself. It's widely known who puts the work in for CSM7 and who doesn't, and the CPM will be no different. We'll be transparent about our contributions moving forward.

Happy to clear this up right away. I was notified of my invitation to the CPM following the initial public announcement, which came months after I announced that I would not be running for re-election. However, the CPM will not be a full-year commitment as the CSM would have been, and I'm comfortable (and available) to serve for a few more months until we can establish elections and a proper CPM cycle.
Tiel Syysch wrote:I'll believe it when I see it. Past experience shows that you are incapable of putting biases aside to work with or benefit others you previously did not get along with. Just the other day you refused to squad with someone purely because of the corp he belonged to, regardless of your having no prior problems with the person. You've also actively chosen not to participate in community events because of who was involved in running them. I fully expect a similar pattern of behavior from you while on the CPM, but feel free to prove me wrong.
Let me be perfectly clear about something else as well. As a CSM member, I've been more than happy to block/ignore/walk away from countless jerks or people that I found obnoxious, and very few would argue that I haven't been an outstanding (and easily accessible) community representative. Cerebral Wolf was already trying to give her crap in IRC today about him blocking her, but this is entirely acceptable behavior if she feels she's being harassed. The idea that we are obligated to speak to every player under any circumstances no matter how they behave, or that we must invite all people into our squads is frankly ridiculous. I'd rather we just shut that silly argument down now before it wastes anyone else's time or energy. |

Deluxe Edition wrote:I do have my concerns about a lack of top end talent on the CPM, as well as the main criteria for being on the CPM being whether or not you have a podcast, hang out in IRC, or are able to stream videos.
I can think of many people who have contributed greatly with detailed bug reports throughout the beta on the forums, as well as posting possible fixes that make sense. That group has been completely left out of the CPM.
All I have to say is this - The Mittani is known as one of the most effective CSM leaders of all time, and he's terrible at actually flying a spaceship (and happy to admit it). No K/D ratio, warpoint total, or other silly metric will have any bearing on our ability to represent the community's concerns to CCP.
The individuals (besides those of us that were selected) that have put hundreds of hours into reporting bugs and suggesting solutions will continue to be a critical part of the process and should definitely reach out to the CPM as well as CCP, we'll assist you however we can in making sure you are heard. The more you arm us with the community's collective knowledge, the better we'll be prepared to act on your behalf when asked for advice behind closed doors. |

Daalzebul Del'Armgo wrote: Hopefully the council that is active will increase to 5. 3 seems to be a very small number that can be easily Stacked with proper organization. Once voting by the player base is allowed and you know how we like to exploit stuff ;)
Good luck to you 3
Just to clarify, there are indeed 5 members of the CPM: Kane Spero, Jenza Aranda, Nova Knife, Iron Wolf Saber, and myself.
Thanks again for the kind words! o7 |
