These were used back in June/July 2012 in the closed beta. I totally miss them simply because of how damned useful they were at being a defensive position.

I wouldn't mind this, although they would require a fair bit of redesigning. I was forever getting stuck to the insides, especially when in a heavy dropsuit.
Having both these and the current versions available to buy once we can add our own infrastructure to the maps would add a bit more strategy to planning fights. |

Agree'd. They were a little tricky to navigate, but damn it were they useful for defending positions. Taking cover behind the wall was the best part about this.
Honestly a shame they haven't brought back the Small Turrets either - those little buggers were amazing in certain circumstances.
Hell, to be honest, I think the build from June/July 2012 was GREAT and ever since then they've been snipping features here and there and turning this game into..... I have no idea! The fact that one side would have an MCC and the other side had a complex just made it so much more visceral, like it honestly mattered which side you were on. |

Having these current turret bases was the best thing I've ever seen CCP do for them. The thing we don't currently have is not always the better. |

I like it that way, the operator of the Turret shouldn't be invulnerable to fire if he's standing between the turret and a wall, as is current. You need AV weaponry to punch through that or someone to flank - a skilled user of a Blaster Turret can cover an entire section of territory better than an HAV in most cases. This was the entire argument of the Objectives and is why they made the objectives have a specific side you have to hack them on, rather than full 360.
Beyond that it offered a greater degree of defense to those who took cover -near- the turret with the small walls and the only thing you would honestly need to do to fix the glitches there is just expand the walkway a bit so that you weren't bumping along the walls.
