Proper matchmakeing should solve those issues. |

think its coming on may 6th? cuz a day 1 player vs some of these 6+m sp players isn't going to bother. i can't get any of my fps friends or brother to touch this game after the first pubstomp they run into. i thought they where being whiners but tried it with a 1.8m sp standard heavy vs some proto/officer pubstomp crews and knew why.
at least i got a 6+m sp main to fall back on.. they don't. |

Agreed, now I have some buddies who aren't that high, I think maybe 3 mil or something and they are currently doing fine. You gotta just let your friends know what to expect and that in about a month it hardly matters. |

There are two types of players when it comes to games.
The ones who prefer even footing, a fair match everytime.
Then there are the ones who want tiers and progression. They want the unfair advantage and want to crush those who are less skilled.
EvE thrives off the second player base (try a frig 1v1 against a year old EvE player during your first few days, it will make dust look welcoming.
It won't draw the many millions they are probably hoping for without matchmaking, but it seems like it hooks more dedicated long term players. |

May 6th will help solve this issue.
Introduction to Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest will pull organised groups out of current instant battle hisec games. Even those not interested in PC will still be in FW as it will have higher payouts and higher lvl of play resulting in more teamwork since larger groups will be allowed.
I dont think u will see much boring fights in FW anymore unless ppl manage to convince 15 other of their team to sit back and not push lol
And with all the vets being in big corps and/or in alliances FW will be heated
Only the scrub corps will stick around in Hisec games and tbqh those ppl wont scare away any newbies cuz most likely they are terrible anyway....no offense to said ppl.
PS: keep in mind u will be gettin SP in PC and FW. |

I couldn't agree more but....
I've topped leader boards on my 350K SP alt (that's like starter SP pretty much) My students have done the same, with little SP.
I'm agreeing but SP isn't everything. |

This type of player, after playing FPS's for 2 decades does not excist, its the lochness monster everyone keeps talking about it, but noone has seen it.
Players will use every little advantage they can get, even if the game is on even footing like you say they will either.
closet hack (on pc), or use the flavor (op) weapon/ build of the month, play in dedicated teams on public games, use moderate glitches to get a small advantage or use turbo (rapid fire) controllers to negate all/most recoil of a weapon.
Or moan about it on the forums, if said advantage is not on their side.
People also like to think they are THE GOD of fps games, then blame it on everything else when they get their butt kicked, good players know their limits, what they can, bad players blame it on the game.
Yesterday a friend of mine after months me nagging about it tried it out, he lasted 1 hour, he is also horrible at FPS games but thinks he can magically compete with 2 decades of FPS experiance.
Then when the scores are in 20+/0 against his 1/10, everyone including me must be hacking their PS3, the game is crap, i got more skill, my proto gear is is the cause of my awesomeness.
Fair enough i swap to a new character with 500k sp and run a 17/3 against a dedicated team in Militia gear and kill a couple of protos in the process, he gets 0/12 and rage quits the game.
His Ego couldnt take it i guess.

This premise will never die. In 3 months all the current noobs will cry the same way. Matching is broken because there is no way to do it and it will never work because of cry babies. Unless we restrict gear based on sec stat of the system there is no way to match make correctly. Stop whining.
Noobs will always have a disadvantage when they start because they are new to the game and it is difficult. New Eden does not hold hands a corp might or even a friend by not New Eden.
SP does make your merc better but only to a point and the reason you die is because they are better than you, in a squad or they are better than you. This game is and will be for the hardcore fps crowd who wants deep game play mechanics, social interactions and longevity.
No one I have brought to the game has the rage quit problem. They may become frustrated but I tell them what is going to happen and what to expect. Stay away from the grind for SP and have fun, join a corp and play in a group. DUST is in the tears business, we are not here to play house. |

Valid points, but I meant to make a reference to the difference say between BF3 and Dust. BF3 everyone has the same HP, movement speed, gun selection ect. It is a more fair match because every player is met with the same constraints. To some this is much more appealing.
Dust allows players to compete with a different set of constraints. Those who start and don't see the potential to build, but instead focus on how the matches are unfair will never enjoy a game like this. Dust will attract those who can accept that war isn't always fair, and sometimes you are going to die due to superior gear and SP.

Since the three skilled Corps all merged I bet it's a total nightmare. That nyain san 5+ KDR is built on the broken backs of all the poor non-allied JP players. |

[Granted as someone who plays with 8.3mil SP and a 1.5mil SP alt character there is not as big of a difference as most people think]
The skill in BF3 and Cod series is too much compressed to the point everyone can get kills, when 1 - 2 bullets can kill to the torso it does not take allot of solid aim whereas trying to kill a guy in a proto while wearing a proto and cover is abundand the one with the better stratigic point / experiance will eventually win, not the guy who gets the first spray&pray in, altough if hes wearing 4 damage mods and a Viziam your face is gone really fast.
But yeah i can guess that to many that appeals, to me i like to build my character overtime BF3 & Cod gets boring really fast. But most People love easy, especially easy kills and don't want to be put against Veterans because like i said, they loose their advantage.
On PC shooters where Hacks run abundant i get around 5-8 pm's an evening playing (3 hours) how i need to get a life and need to get good without using an Aimbot, trigger bot, wallhack etc ...whatever keeps their EGO's safe by telling themselves i must be hacking.
On Dust where they realise, there are no hacks, its the game, gear, sp that sucks, if you have never played shooters on PC, playing for the first time on PS3 really made my eyes open up at how bad the hacking problem really is on PC and how poor most players skills really are.
I also got 4 friends that hack on PC (togglers) and don't want to play dust because they can't use their aimboits on here.
Toggler: Someone who when they are winning, play using their own skill but when they start loosing toggle the cheat on.
Its pretty sad.
