The difference between militia and the proto forge gun are minimal and they need to be paced back a bit with militia being around 900 and people who want to skill into the proto forge guns still getting the same amount. It's just forge gunning shouldn't be something you can pick up and blow everything up with. It like everything else should require skill, experience, and proto to make it the most effective on the field. I guess you could say proto is still better but militia is a bit to much of a kick and to easy to get even more true is how easy the standard forge guns are to get and use. |

ugg reset wrote:comparing a forge gun to a Large rail gun is like comparing a grenade to a mass driver. sure the forge deals out more damage but a rail can fire in rapid succession after one short charge. not to mention all the skill that can be use to passively boost the damage as much as 35% without damage mods or the marauder skill. Hell, heat sinks alone make up for the rail guns lack of dammage.
Forge guns can be fired in rapid succession as well and you can easily have two forge gunners firing in rapid succession for what? 3 to 4 shots? |

A lot of that is true but its irrelevant to the damage they are dealing out and you forgot to mention the heavy is probably 5 to tens times cheaper. The heavy also comes with natural armor and shield that put him over any dropsuit his high damage allows him to push back or completely destroy vehicles. I have had a proto forge gunner (Yes some who knew what he was doing) hit me for 3,000 damage in one shot. It's the pure dps in this game that wins hands down it's not the shield mods and shield buffs it really is the damage. |

Also forge guns are super accurate when it comes to infantry and a heavy will be guaranteed enough shield and armor to completely wreck a dropsuit before he dies. I have seen some forge gunners with insane accuracy. |
